Opened the storm door to let Monster out, and the wind slammed it right back shut.
Warnings of flooding, trees coming down, and power outages.
29 days til Spring.
Happy Wednesday.

Woke up to a couple inches of snow. Schools closed, government closed, teleworking. Plows are going by but we're going to be in for a few more inches followed by ice. It's pretty while it will last.
Snow started here around 9:30 and is coming down at a rate of about an inch an hour since there is already an inch out there. Supposed to change over to ice and freezing rain later this afternoon. And, I have to head out soon for work and will be coming home when the ice hits. UGH! *SIGH*
Well, that was a whirlwind weekend. Birthday was fun. Went to Rainforest Cafe Saturday night. DS enjoys the storms and looking at the animals. He also enjoys the money pit that's between the exit of the restaurant part and the mall. They had a garlic noodles dish on the temporary menu that was delicious. DS tried a bite and gave it two thumbs down. It was super garlicky and overwhelmed him.
DS got sick. Took him to urgent care on Sunday. Strep test negative. Didn't have flu symptoms so no flu test. He got worse so took him to his pediatrician yesterday. Ear infection. I guess it wasn't detectable on Sunday. Poor kid.
Had a weird thing happen at the pediatrician's office. This other parent was in there with her daughter. Parent had a vomit bag - which the daughter availed herself of while waiting. They got called back and another parent started complaining at me about sick kids in the doctor's office. Um, what? She turned back around after confirming that the miserable looking boy curled up on my side was also sick. Not sure where she thinks sick kids should go. Not sure why she thought I would be sympathetic considering I'm there with a sick kid. I know some offices do separate waiting rooms for sick vs healthy kids but this one doesn't. Perhaps she ought to find one that does.
2 inches of wet snow by the end of the business day that turned to frozen slush. All the roads out of my area (a pretty major communter thoroughfare) were blocked because of accidents. I didn't realize it and left at 530 to go to a 630 appointment about 30m away. I knew traffic would be a pain, so I left really early.
Took me half an hour to get around my block. Gave up and spent more than another half hour getting home. Allies and fire lanes were my friends. Of course, they were all conjested too because everyone was trying it, but got me home faster than sitting on a major road not moving.
We have six inches of new snow! Yay! Nay!! That is on top of the six we got over the weekend. Another storm is on the way for this weekend and another on Tuesday. Good gosh, it must be February or something.
Sounds like we all are having weather with challenges. Stay safe out there folks.
Chef, sounds like the woman thinks she's pretty special, ugh.

Faith isn't something that keeps bad things from happening. Faith is what helps us get through bad things when they do happen.
Our ped takes babies first thing in the morning before the sick kids start coming in. When we went for allergy shots in the afternoon, I was real careful about teaching the boys not to touch anything, and to try to sit away from the others. It's hard when the waiting room gets crowded, but I found the later we could get in the better as most sick kids are either at home by then or hospitalized. What bothered me more were the pharmaceutical guys coming in pushing their drugs.

Glad you had a nice BD dinner.
Ear infections are tricky.
Those separate waiting rooms are pointless, because they use all the exam rooms equally.
The room you are in has been used for every kid. Sick or well.
I always used the saniwipes in the room to wipe down things the kids would touch.

All that snow ya'll Yankees are getting have triggered a flood watch and warning for us til the middle of March! 😃
We are nearly 4 inches in surplus of rain for the year.
We are getting an average of 2 inches a day, now.
Between our rain, and the projected melt and run off, we could be flooded for weeks.

It's the warmth from the Gulf pushing these storms east.
It's warming up, here, too.
You'll probably have thunderstorms tomorrow.

They thing I didn't like was the ones who didn't clean up after their kids.
Kids get sick, that's just a fact of life.
But if your kid pukes in the waiting room, and makes a mess, clean it up.
And don't get me started on the ones that came in with an obviously sick child who was crying, and the parent sat on the phone pushing the child away.
Love on that child. They need you.
