Another day at the doctor's office, hopefully not as long, though.
Echo and monitor today.
Still have a bit of a headache and shaky from yesterday.
Looks like it's going to be a beautiful, sunny day.
Happy Friday.

And, thankfully, they've called me some zofran in for my stomach.
Hopefully I can just rest today and be better tomorrow.

Battling with someone over the Service Contract Act and some Obama Executive Order. Actually, we're not battling, we both really want answers since we disagree.
And it looks like my first grandbaby will be here mid November.

Apparently Stoner Neighbours complained to the building manager about me the other night. Building manager laughed at her and reminded her that she was told when she moved in (and a couple times since) that the walls were thin and she would hear everything. Basically told her to suck it. Then came and told me that if they come knocking again I should call her. I told her about the screaming in the hallway and she said if I called she'd come right away.

I hated apartment living. I feel for you.

Good evening, hope you are doing alright lily and that you get a good report. I’m glad your landlord is a good one right, hello Trudy, fnw, ikwtd... went to lunch with a good friend, prepared a meal for someone at Church who recently had surgery and found out that it is actually next Friday that I was scheduled to bring it. Well it won’t go to waste.
Hope you get on the road to health quickly, Lily. Doctor's offices are the pits (not to mention dentist's, too). Got to get your healthy by November so you can be ready to go for the birth of your grandchild....
I'm beginning to think it's a stomach bug. The zofran has helped.

But really, I use a lot of cast iron or pyrex or I have some heavy-duty pots I've picked up over the years.

Calphalon is really good. Not dishwasher safe. The outer finish will wear off. I was lazy and put my large skillet in the dishwasher a few times and ruined it. Over $100. My fault.

The cons on non-stick are that, unless you
are super vigilant, you will use a metal
utensil, and scratch the surface. Once
it has been scratched, not only will it let
the food stick, but it will also flake off in
minute particles, which end up in your
food. Not a good thing.
The pros for SS are that they can take
much higher heats (like under the broiler)
and they are super easy to clean. If you
should ever let food get burned on, just
fill it with hottest tap water, and a dryer
sheet (like Bounce), and let it sit for
half an hour. Works wonders.
My mawmaw cooked with set she had for over 60 years.
I want it.

Yep, the dryer sheet thing works!
I have some really good SS cookware. I've probably had it over 25 years. Well worth the cost. It's really heavy and works great! I do love non stick for my skillets though.

Okay I'm just seeing this....wow. How do you feel about this? I mean, a baby is a gift from God and I have you doubt you'll make a great grandma..
Of course I wish circumstances were different, but they are not.
I'm thrilled, mostly. Worried, but thrilled.
Caitlyn will be 25 this September. She's been out of the house for 3 years, with Tony for 2 & 1/2 years.
So, what, exactly what else can I do but be supportive?

And before anyone asks, no, they are not planning to get married.
And, no, I'm not going to encourage them to, either.

I'm sorry to hear this. And I'm glad you are supporting her because she's going to need it, but legally speaking, Caitlyn and the child would be better protected if they were married. What if something happens to him? SS survivor benefits would be higher if they were married, and what if is it a wrongful death? Not being a spouse, she would have no personal claims. That goes both ways.
If I was his mother, I'd be begging him to marry her to protect his rights as this child's father without having to go to court to legitimate the kid.
Even if the marriage were to end in divorce later, they are both better protected if married when that kid is born.

And 20 years, and a nasty divorce ago I would have agreed.
However, they do not want to marry.
She is currently making hard decisions.
His mother is 3 states away, and he rarely speaks to her.
I know the ideal situation. Hell, I did it.
But if someone does not want to be married, they won't be.
And she is thinking of the child and what is best for the child.
There is more to giving a kid a good home than the parents being married.
A kid in a stable home with one parent is always better off than a kid in a two parent home that isn't.

LL, you and I are going to disagree on this subject, so, please, let's not argue.
My daughter is having a baby, she is happy, I am happy.
I'm sure you have heard about Supernatural season 15 being the last?
