Good morning !
Glad the weather wasn't as bad as expected fwm
Hello trudy and Ikwtd
Raining here, expecting a very busy week with daughter and her family . Going to keep the girls Monday night so dd and sil can celebrate their anniversary, this Saturday we are having our whole family Easter celebration and then just immediate family celebration on Easter, pictures and a amusement park. It's going to be a busy week.

Ugh!!! So Sister and I made reservations to go to fl in July (the week of the 4th) to go with brother to his disability hearing. Sister that lives in Fl may not be able to take him since her DD is having a baby around that date. We hadn't told her yet and I'm not sure if brother did. Today I got an invitation in the mail for a baby shower. DN is throwing herself a shower memorial weekend. Let's not forget DN just had a baby 13 months ago and had a huge shower. Sigh, this is going to be a huge blow up. I just can't go two times so close.
That storm the Texas geeks got is heading this way.
It's a huge wall, but, it should pass quickly.
The carport looks so much better, still need to put some things back on it, but it looks better.
We mostly use it as an outdoor room. I want to screen it in.

I'd love a screened patio. Or a carport where I could sit outside and listen to the rain. The storms are supposed to be here tomorrow. It's already very windy. Not sure what they are doing about the golf tournament.
Nice weather here on Thursday. Got some hot peppers, string beans, red bell pepper and tomato plants set out. Always hope for a good harvest but usually just ends up so-so. Anyway the fun is in the planting, tending and watching them grow. (Gee, kind of sounds like raising kids....)

Don't over commit. DN doesn't need you at yet another shower

It's hard to grow enough to make a difference unless you have the land for it.
I do miss going into the closet and having jars and jars of vegetables that was grown and canned in the summer.

Oh, Lily, does that bring back memories!!! I especially miss Danish Sweet Pickles and Bread and Butter Pickles put up by my mother...
Oh, yeah! Home canned bread and butter pickles! Goodness, I could live off of them!

I remember when we used the very last jar of green beans my granny put up. Those were the best ever.
Oh gosh, we went to the grocery store only for things we couldn't grow at home or one of the family farms.
One side raised cows, the other pigs, and everyone had chickens.
We had a field of potatoes, a field of beans, a field of corn.
And everyone had their own gardens.
Pickled everything.
Canned everything.
From vegetables to jellies to sauces.
Yep. It was good.

Karl ~
To help your vegetables get a nice
healthy start, collect egg shells
from when you use eggs. Put
them through the blender, to
make a fine powder. Add the
egg shells to the soil when you
plant your veggies - they will
love the calcium boost!
If you make the shells coarser,
and spread them around the
base of your veggies on top of
the soil, they will deter snails
from attacking the plants.
Looks like I am steadily getting over it. Doctor today; small water resistant bandage with a little anti bacterial salve on it. I can change it myself from now until the 22nd. Another visit then and, if lucky, no more.... Just three weeks ago today and I took the same route today that I did then. A little leery but got through it. Revisiting the scene of the crime, so to speak. Just have to slow down and realize I cannot do three things at one time any more. Sigh
