I still think it's cute! It's only once a year, unlike all the gloomy Monday references I hear every single week.
SS got an eff on his report card, oops. We are trying to decide what to do about it. DH wants to pull him out of track and take away his phone and video games (all of which take up most of his life) because he had obviously been lying about having no schoolwork all the time. His mom wants to do nothing because it will hurt his feelings. So I don't know what kind of standoff THAT'S going to turn into.

Grocery shopping today? First weekend of the month?
I've got to go back to the store, myself. I don't want to. But I forgot to get toilet paper. Of all things to forget!
We've had a few thunderstorms roll through during the night and today. Nothing bad. It was perfect sleeping weather.
Bought a 12 pack of Fanta wild cherry yesterday, my goodness, it tastes like a skittles. Strong! It'll almost lock your jaw it's so strong. It'd probably be delicious in a sloe gin fizz.
Happy Saturday .

Is this the first F?
What are the other grades like?

His phone would be limited to only when he left the house, no using it at home. The video games would be history. He could earn limited weekend video game time thru proving his grades were improving. I’d leave him in track. It’s good for his physical health.

This is a good idea.
Sounds as though Mom wants to raise a snow flake.

So excited. DD and her class are arriving 1 1/2 hours earlier than expected from DC. Other than Monday night / early Tuesday I haven't seen her in two weeks and was not going to until tomorrow night since this is her father's weekend. He is out and about since he planned for a 6:30 arrival. I am picking her up, she wants to come home and hug Sonny and grab her laptop. She sounded so excited.

Good point about track. The thing is, he's not putting much effort into that either. All his events he is kind of just going through the motions and usually results in dead last. Which doesn't seem to be bothering him. I don't know if he's just not a motivated kid? I mean, he didn't care to learn to ride a bike until he was ten.

Vette, if this is the first F, and it's only one subject, I'd think a conference with the teacher would be a good idea. Sounds like he is either struggling with the work, or there is another dynamic at the heart of this. Have a talk with him. No confrontation, just ask if he is understanding what is needed for the class. A friendly fact finding conversation. If after talking to him, and then the teacher, he is just dropping the ball because he just doesn't care, that's when you drop the hammer.
IKWTDS, bet she'll be glad to see her mom, too.

But where did she want to go? To a friend's house, to eat? No. She wanted to be home.
