I miss not having an office to go to...I think. If we had to be kicked out of our building, this has been a good time for it due to my needing to be closer to home for school crap.
Sounds like perfect timing, FNW, hope the boys like the school.

Back from vacay and my sense of time is off. I'm exhausted and could use a few days hibernation. DH's work schedule is wonky this week because of DS' graduation and last day of school activities.
Vacay was fun. Unless Gordon Ramsay builds another restaurant in Vegas, we only have GR Steak left to visit. DH got arrested. He was working my last nerve complaining about how far of a walk it was back to Flamingo from Circus Circus so when one of a pair of women dressed as hottie cops asked if he'd been a bad boy ... I answered in the affirmative and they arrested him. He shut up right quick after that ;) The look on his face was priceless when they slapped the cuffs on though! He thought it was real until his brain caught up to what was happening.
DH was over the moon to meet Rich Little. Definitely the highlight of the trip for him. That, and getting to perform with Big Elvis again. I ended up getting to see the Rich Little show for free. We got there early and were chatting with the door guy. He was confused when I didn't go in so we explained the show was for DH and I'm just gonna do my own thing. But, he got permission for me to come in for free. So, hey, cool!
The big highlight for me this trip was Hell's Kitchen. It was everything I expected it to be. Loved the food and the experience. We got confirmation that GR was in town but kept missing him. Drat! Oh well. Maybe next time.
Glad you had a good time, chef! There is so much to see and do in Vegas. The boys loved the casinos. They had to keep moving, so DH walked with them while I made a few bucks on the slot machines. And the food everywhere is top notch. It has to be, they wouldn't last long with all the competition. We stayed at Trump Hotel, which is at the end of the strip. No casino, across from a shopping mall. Nice and quiet.
They loved it. Impressed with how far along they were in Spanish. Played basketball with other boys who urged them to join CYO. Cold inside though so they would need layers or warmer clothes. They liked everything about it. One of the boys who was in charge of them went to kindergarten with #1 apparently. And another boy they knew from camp last year.
The current school records were received Friday, but Dir. of Admissions hadn't opened them yet as of this morning. So hopefully we'll hear something this week.
Glad they liked it, FNW. Hope it works out for them.
Sounds like a fun trip, Chef.
We are firmly entrenched in our Summer weather pattern.
Nights in the 70s, days in the upper 90s. Real feels will be 80s and 100+.
Mom is having her knee replacement Wednesday. I think I've got everything done.
She won't be staying in the hospital unless something comes up. Not sure when joint replacement became outpatient surgery.
She'll start rehab Friday. 3 days a week out, but she has some to do every day.
I need prayers for patience and strength.

Happy near end of the day to everyone Else. I am done working for the day. Been a bit crazy but not as bad as it has been. I am taking on Mgt duties. That will help my career last the next 6-7 years that I want to work.

And their school counted today as an unexcused absence. Hell they learned more Spanish today than they did in 6 years at their current school. bastards.
That's the way it is the higher in school they get.
In high school, I had to send excuse notes to each individual class.

We visited the Trump Hotel while there. I was surprised that it wasn't all that opulent on the inside. It struck me as something more mid-range than high end. DH very much enjoyed the free shuttle to Caesar's so he didn't have to walk. The shuttle couldn't accommodate the mobility scooter I use when there so I met him at Caesar's. Funny story: I melted a couple of snowflakes en route to Caesar's. Apparently, I was going too fast for their tastes. One snowflake followed me just to make some passive aggressive remarks. I wasn't being obnoxious or hitting anyone (or even coming close to doing so) or doing anything unsafe.
We both got a snicker coming down the freeway at the McDonald's sign and Trump Tower being near each other. DH joked that Trump built his tower near his favorite food place.

Turned my keys over to the Exec. Dir. ! !
She's back from vacation - after being
gone for 4 weeks. I loved hearing from
the seniors that they thought I did a
bang-up job. It's nice to be appreciated.
And Exec. Dir. brought me back some
really lovely lemon verbena soap, plus
a $20 gift certificate. Nice!
