ETickets Exclusively?

So, my sister and I are taking my mother to see Carol Burnett tonight.  I bought tickets a couple of months ago and last night, went back into my email to print them out.

I'm thinking that this is going to be an older crowd, with few people younger than my sister and me.

Tickets to this show are not printable and are ETickets only.  I had to download an app and enter in a ton of info from my phone.

What about people that do not have smart phones?  My mother doesn't text and has a flip phone.  So she would not be able to go by herself if she wanted to.  What if I was meeting someone and they got hung up in traffic and were going to be 30 minutes late?  I would have to wait outside for them because I cannot transfer the tickets.

I am not happy about this.  This is the first time I've had to do this.  Is this the way it is all headed?  UGH...

I use etickets all the time. Yeah, it would suck for someone who didn't have a smart phone. But there are usually other options. I'm surprised they did not even offer a will call option.

I have a foot on both sides. I prefer paper tickets. If technology glitches, I could lose my tickets and I can't afford that. But, I do like the convenience of not having to hold onto paper tickets. DH is the opposite. He prefers e-everything.

When I purchased tickets to see Lynyrd Skynyrd recently, I received them in my email and were printable if I'd have a printer but I also received them on my phone as well. There were options. I like having the choice.

And, WOW, Carol Burnett!!! You guys will have a great time. Can't wait to hear about it.

Last time I went to a concert, I bought them at Sound Bar, a record store in the mall. It was 1997, Ozzfest, and it was card stock tickets.

Carol Burnette. Wow. I saw her in an on-Broadway play (Once upon a Mattress) back in 1960 when I was stationed at Fort Dix getting training. Loved her then and would like to be able to see her again. Enjoy and be sure to tell us everything about the evening.

Carol is one classy lady - and all of her
"stunts" are hilariously funny. I still
remember doubling over with laughter
when she did Scarlett O'Hara with the
curtain rod across her shoulder. Her
writers had the most vivid imaginations
ever! And her costumes were awesome!

She was AMAZING! It wasn't what I was expecting, but it was still amazing. Bucket list check off for sure! And at The Ryman no less...the Mother Church and the best venue in the world...
