We're under a heat advisory for the next couple of days.

I can stand hot, but this humidity has got to go!

Oh well, I guess I'd better water my plants, before the sun starts beating down on us.

It will be a good day to hide in the house, and watch The Tennis.wink

I hope everyone has a good day!smile

Cooler today and sunny! We got almost 4 inches of rain yesterday morning. Mulch everywhere. Ugh.

Hot and humid here. But that's normal. I'm home. My connecting flight in Charlotte was delayed 2 hours. I'm exhausted. So glad I took and extra day off. One of my coworkers texted me earlier that I won an ipod touch. I had taken a work survey and ended up in a drawing. My ipod is a dinosaur so I'm pretty happy about winning.

Your ipod is a dinosaur ... my first thought was "they make them in shapes? Cool! You have a dinosaur one!" then I realized that you meant that the old one was really old. I'm a little sad that they don't have dinosausr shaped ipods.

Hey, ya'll.

It was still 77 at 5 this morning. It's 91 now, the real feel is 103.

Happy Tuesday.

DH and I just got back from a 188
mile wild goose chase! He was told
about a source for huge fresh canta-
loupes, but when we got there, all
they had were watermelons - small
ones at that. Oh well, we had a
nice drive, and a pleasant breakfast.

much better day at work today than yesterday. Weather is a bit hot but tolerable especially when one has central A/C. . Took the dog for a long walk. Freakin bug bites. I forgot to put my vicks on.

Not much else going on. relaxing, need to get up on time, work some and then go to the office. I am running a teaching lunch tomorrow for my leads.

Does Vick's work as a bug repellent? How much do you put on? Details!

I put a dab behind my ears, around my ankles and a bit on my neck and throat.  Works like a charm especially for the black flies, mosquitoes and gnats.  Great stuff!

Thought I'd sit outside for a bit. It's been thundering nonstop for 20 minutes. Continuous thunder.

Lots of lightning, too.

And it feels like I'm sitting in front of an oven.

If the rain would just start, it'd be great.

'Stupidly humid all week. Rain has been predicted every day for the following day, but then they move it to the next day, and the next day ... it's
upposed to rain tonight too and they were worried it would rain out Movie In the Park, but it's almost 830 and nothing yet. Just more humid.

I didn't know Vick's would keep bugs away! Thanks for the tip! The biting flies have been terrible this year. I've been using Deep Woods Off, but I don't really like using chemicals.

I'll get some Vick's when I go to the store.

Tig, I hope we all get a break from the humidity...soon!

I always have some. I rub it on the boys' chests when they are congested. Works well!

I usually only get one cold a year.

And, I don't take any over the counter cold medicine, other than plain old Mucinex.  (the blue/white pills.) (A combination of drugs, sends me jumping out of my skin. I can't stand it.)cry

But, have you ever tried Puff's tissues, with Vick's?

Oh my gosh. They are the best, when you have a sore nose.

And, they smell wonderful! JMHO!wink

Puff's with Vick's, are the bomb, if you have a runny nose!

Or, congested, and have to blow your nose, a lot.

And, they are soft, and smell great! Like Vick's Vapor Rub!

Keep a couple of boxes around. You will love them!

Just an idea!smile

I've those in the store but haven't tried them yet.  I bet hanging one out of one's back and front pants/shorts pockets would keep the bugs away too.

I have never tried that, so I don't know if it would work. But, it's worth a try!wink

Now, they are very good, on a sore nose. That, I can promise!smile

Well if you watched The Golf you would have noticed what looks like small towels hanging out of the pockets of the golfers, they are actually dryer sheets that keep the bees away.  Same idea with the vicks tissues.

I do watch, The Golf. I even played golf, for years...until my back tanked.

And yes, Bounce dryer sheets, worked pretty good, when we lived in Ohio.

These Texas bugs, are from hell. Mean. Determined. Fierce. furious

The biting flies, are the worst.

I put 3 fly catchers, in our back yard. In 2 weeks, I've caught thousands of them.

And, it hardly made a dent.

They pester us, to death.cry
