What a Way to Start the Day, Wednesday!

I got up at 4:30, turned on the local news...it was 82 and muggy. No walk today.cry

So, I puttered around and got Wayne's lunch packed, and started the dishwasher. I figured I would get an early start on watering and weeding.

Nope, that didn't happen. When Wayne went to leave for work at 6:30, Kermit stalled, and then, wouldn't start. Dead battery.

So, I had to drop him at work. We'll pick up a new battery after I pick him up at 5.

I guess I'll do what I can, before the sun comes over the top of the trees.

Drat!

I hope everyone has a good day!smile

FWM I would melt in the weather you have.

Not much going on here just working away.

Hired a kid to weed. There is way too much for dd to do by herself.
That's about it. Have a great day!

Well, IKWTDS, I deal with the heat, as best I can. Getting an early start on outside chores is the key. So, I'm disappointed that I was delayed.

But, there's always tomorrow.

And, we're consoling ourselves with the fact that Kermit is dead in the driveway, and not out on the road somewhere. If a battery is going to die, we like when it happens at home.biggrin

I try to look on the bright side.wink

I hope the kids do a good job with the weeding!

We've finally got our rain. Hopefully this will get all the moisture out of the systems. It's not a lot though. Steady, enough to need rain boots which I rarely do, but not enough to be considered 'heavy' or a storm.

I think my mattress died last night. I'm going to give it one more flip and see if I can survive it a little longer. I don't want to spend money on a new mattress

Good afternoon 😃 to hot to take the boys out, fed them their lunch and glanced away to put dishes in sink and there was the 1yr old giving me the biggest smile as he dropped majority of his lunch on the floor 🤪 had a stern no no conversation and scrambled to get him more to eat, cleaned up the mess and now he is singing and jabbering in his high chair.

It's a bit grey, but rather ok today.

Thunder now and then.

I think the whole neighborhood is mowing today.

Someone, send us some rain, please!

Sorry about the mess, Lindley. They can be little stinkers, at times!wink

Well, I didn't finish the side yards, or the front. But, I did finish mulching the patio garden, and I'm declaring victory back there! Now, I'll just have to keep it watered, and pick up monkey balls and leaves and twigs. Easy peasy!

Mere and I will try to finish the sides tomorrow morning, bright and early. I just want to be done already!

Picking Wayne up at 5. We'll get a new battery into Kermie tonight.

Finally stopped raining for a day. We went down to see the Doctor (family type; not specialist) and was that a mistake. Since the rain finally stopped and Wednesday is only a half day for his clinic it was just packed.... But since we did not have anything better to do (LOL) we just sat there and waited. Finally saw him and got some meds for usual aches and pains.

There is a new middles being built across the road, that started in the fall, today, our road was repaired, and their are trees being cleared on the back side of the neighborhood.

Lots of rumbling today.

Not sure what to get my nephew and his fiance for a wedding present. Going back and forth between an ice cream maker and money.

Still working on putting that slide show together, I have some more pictures, but still want more. Oh well.

I want to do a yard sale soon, but I can't talk myself into it fully.

Made spaghetti for dinner.

I know. So exciting.

We got the new battery for Kermit. Can I just say...STICKER SHOCK!

The last time we bought a battery, maybe 4 years ago, it cost around $80.

Wayne asked for the cheapest one, at the auto parts store. $155 plus tax! Say what?

The guy told Wayne, the U.S. closed all of our lead smelting facilities. And that drove the price right up.

So, be prepared for sticker shock, the next time your car needs a battery, my pretties.cry

Wow. My daughter's was only $99. That was tax included, and they put it in.

Made a dollar tree run, needed poster board, now I'm munching Cracker Jacks.

Days are getting shorter.

Wow.  I think the last time I bought a battery it was $50 but that was decades ago.
