I want to plan a vacation next year somewhere in the Caribbean. (although FL is not out of the picture). I am leaning toward Aruba due to the crap that is going on in most other Islands. Anyway has any of you been? I want an all inclusive. Recommendations?

I don't know but let me know what you find out! We are thinking of another Caribbean all inclusive but so far we have only come up with Cancun or Jamaica where we stayed last time. I'm a little leery about both given the stuff that's been going on...
Ah. I remember that. But, when I was looking for places to go for my New Year trip there were so many that had high advisories that there wasn't much left. I ended up picking somewhere that had regions with lower advisories even though other parts had higher ones.
Mexico is "level 2" advisory. Violent crime, kidnapping, homicide, etc. is what the State Dept. advises.
I can get a suite in playa ca for nearly half the cost of Aruba due to the gangs and drug issue. No doing it. If it were me and friends I might but not my kids.

Yes! Maralargo! Except I think that's on the East side, I prefer the gulf side. Marco Island is beautiful, but harder to get to. Clearwater is too popular, but Tampa is a good airport for us so we can always go from there.
I loved Destin. But I haven't been there since I was 16.

Last time I was there, Destin was still underdeveloped, but close enough to PCB for day trips to do stuff.
And it was cheaper than PCB.

I have spent a lot of time in Destin and Fort Walton on business. It is beautiful but I hated the crabs that came up out of the sand every evening at dusk. Creepy and they flooded the beaches.

Really? That's one of the things I love about that area! Taking a flashlight and a bucket and "goin' crabbin"!

Really? That's one of the things I love about that area! Taking a flashlight and a bucket and "goin' crabbin"!
They are way too active to be walking on the beach though. And if staying in a hotel room no way to cook them. I do the crabbing at the cottage. Blue crab is so much yummier.
