On another note, the ship we were on a couple of weeks ago experienced engine problems when leaving Baltimore for Bermuda and had to turn around. Poor Captain Thor!

First time in weeks I actually feel somewhat human again.

I completed the clean out in my room. The Goodwill pile is huge. I do not think they are taking donations today so will go down next weekend. Dog is walked although if the weather holds up he will get another in a bit.
Someone posted on my resident's FB site about her young teen daughter walking her dog early last night. Ran into a van with three guys offering her money for the dog, side door of the van was open. Girl ran back home with the dog. I told DD about it, it happened in the neighborhood of one of her friend's houses. Apparently unrelated to the original incident the friend had taken her dog for a walk with her father. They too saw the van and thought it was odd, out of place. Father took a pic of the vehicle, occupants, and the plate. no crime we know of was committed but now the PD have the information.

That is so scary, the girl was smart to run away, I hope the police finds them. Supposed to be working on the house but husband went golfing so I’m just watching criminal minds.

So your TV watching fits with my story about the Van?
This is very scary for the neighborhood where it happened. I see that the neighbors are banding together and forming watch groups. They want to remain out of site so the perps will not be scared off, they want them caught.

One show did have a similar story that involved a dog. I hope these creeps are caught before they hurt a child. I’m sure the parents are not letting their kids out of site, a sad world we live in nowaday.
I'm glad the girl kept her senses about her. That could have ended a whole lot of bad ways.
The neighborhood I'm in, is mostly a one entry/exit road. Unless the park opens its overflow exit.
I'd still rather be out in the country with the closest neighbor is a car ride away.

I am glad as well. But OMG this situation has opened a whole can of worms. and yes the hood it happened in is a one way street from the local city across the river. People want to block it it off which would stop or at least lessen this activity. I say lets hire more officers to patrol. That opened up the firestorm.

I don't know if it will be a good suggestion or not, but a few years ago we had a series of break ins.
It started with a couple cars being broken into, then houses.
One of our neighbors is a city police officer, he helped set up a neighborhood watch, only not as rigid.
It took 2 days from the initial meeting to catch the criminal.
He lived in a neighborhood across the main highway.
Maybe something like that could help.

That is very scary. How old are these women the abductors are targeting? I can remember pimps trying to recruit me at gas stations or wherever when I was around 16 or 17. They didn't throw girls in a van back then, just talked to them and complimented them to get them to go with.
The freezer part of our side-by-side went out. It's less than two years old.

I too think having more of a police presence would discourage kidnappers and they have more resources to back them up. I don’t understand why it would cause a firestorm
Some townspeople do not want to hire more town workers or vote in raises. Apparently we lost 3 cops this year due to higher wages in nearby towns. Those 3 have not been replaced yet. People are stupid, it costs more for attrition than giving raises.
