We have power back! An enormous
thunder & lightening storm rolled
through Tuesday night, and at 4:15
Wednesday morning, our security
light/transformer pole got struck by
lightening, along with a painfully loud
clap of thunder, bad enough to crack
one of the double-pane windows on the
other side of the house. Texted the power
company; all of our neighbors still had lights.
Even though it was still raining, a power
truck came by, diagnosed the problem, and
told us it would be at least a couple of hours
before they could get another transformer out
to us. Okay, that's reasonable. Wednesday
afternoon the new transformer arrives, and its
a dud! Now they have to contact other power
companies in the surrounding area to get another
transformer. Wednesday evening, we have electric,
but the surge fried my TV in the kitchen and fried
the router for our internet. Took the old one to
our internet provider, got a new one, and then
they walked me through the installation.
Its amazing how many e-mails I get every day -
I had to go through almost 100!
At least everything is up and running, even the
new TV in the kitchen. Christmas came (very)
early this year!
Gosh, Momala, glad that lightning didn't hit your house!
Busy day for me, doctor with Caitlyn, then she got her tdap and flu shot, then we came home and I slammed out a large bow order, Caitlyn worked on her Halloween costume for the fall festival.
Caitlyn finished and went home to start dinner, I finished my orders, met the buyer, then to the grocery store.
Came home, made dinner, pancakes, sausage, and eggs, and now I'm sitting here waiting for the Tylenol to kick in.
Oh! And I was up at 2:30 making Jesse breakfast before he left for work.
I need down time.
So, tonight, I assigned kitchen duty to Aaron, and I'm settling in for night of tv.
Supernatural comes on at 8, then I'm going to bed!
Both Caitlyn and Jewel are doing well, Caitlyn has stopped gaining weight, baby is growing, iron, thyroid, and blood pressure are right where they should be.
She's 35 weeks.

DD is setting up the HS haunted Hayride tonight. It runs all weekend and she is an actor. Dropped her off for drill practice at 5:30 this morning and picking her up at 7:15 tonight. She will be exhausted. But she is loving it.

Sounds good, Momala. Hope things stay on an even keel for at least the rest of the year and the weather calms down.
Lily, sounds like your family is doing well.
We went down to the showroom today (they have such things?) to pick out colors for the new bath, what kind and color of bars to hang on to, what color tile, whaat what what. An endless list of things to choose from. We were exhausted after two hours of non stop choosing. But it is finished and the unit bath should be finished (made to order) in a month. Then 4 days to install it - if all the work men are available. Plumber, electrician, carpenter (a wall needs to be moved). Estimated cost in your money - $16,000 So, we hope to have a bath by the beginning of December. Shower is OK, but it is getting cold and nothing beats lazing in a hot tub.

Yes, I was pleased as it includes everything from demolition to installing the new hot water heater. Just have to wait. May have misled Lily. By hot tub, I only meant a hot bathtub, not a hot tub. Is that confusing enough? LOL

No. I understood.
It's been years since I was able to sit in a tub and soak.
Although an actual hottub would be wonderful, too.
