I'm going to be stuck for the
next couple of weeks making
the hors d'oeuvres for the
wedding. Fortunately, most
of them can be made, or at
least partially made, before
hand and frozen.
Hope ya'll survive you day so you can enjoy your weekend.
I've been busy, too.
Made 66 pumpkin bites, 33 spice, 33 chocolate, made 3 bows, and have washed 3 loads of laundry. I'm seeing a theme.
Having a bite, then I have to head over to the church to decorate for tomorrow, and make treat bags for the festival.
At some point, dinner will need to be made.

Good afternoon! Hello Trudy, Ikwtd, Czech 👋🏻 I hope your day gets better and that you have a relaxing weekend, hello fnw- many Blessings to you, hello momala, I bet your appetizers are a hit and lily I hope that you get some rest.
Going home tomorrow and every time the oldest thinks about it she tears up :( I hate goodbyes too! Little man is just to adorable 💕 went to the pumpkin patch yesterday and not only was it a lot of fun, the farm was beautiful.
How long have you had the kids with you, Lindley? I remember when we visited my great grandmother who lived 6 hours away both she and my mother would cry when it was time to say goodbye.
Spent the afternoon with my wife at her 3 month checkup. The doctor got hung up with a fellow who seems to have some serious heart problems and that took about 45 minutes. (The doctor is a heart specialist). Wife got the news that everything is fine - just lose weight. Easier said than done. We had been sitting next to a fellow around 70 or so who seemed to have been waiting for sometime. (This is now 3:45 pm) He said he had been waiting since 10:00 a.m. to see the same Doctor my wife saw. Whoa... My wife checked with the nurse and it seems the guy had somehow slipped through the cracks of the super efficient computer system.... He got in next. We cannot imagine how nurses could see him sitting there for so long and not check on what was happening. Glad my wife spoke up - I wonder if he would have spent the night in the waiting room??
I can't believe the man didn't go up and inquire. If I'm sitting there 15 minutes I inquire. I may or may not have written out a bill for my time one time when I had to wait 2+ hours. I was livid. I would have left but the appt was for my son.
That was my first thought. Why didn't he say something? My drs office has a very clear queue and you notice if you get skipped.
When one is older and left to his own in a waiting room, their mental faculties are not the same as you and I and unfortunately has had to get used to "waiting in line". Very sad.

Idk, Kurt said '70 or so'. My parents are well into their 70s and would be perfectly fine if left in a waiting room. And would have something to say if they waited more than 30m past their appointment time... much less 3h.

About 3 week, I probably wouldn’t have stayed this long (even though I’m definitely not complaining) my daughter had a c-section and needed help driving the girls to ballet and other clasees and doctors appointments. It’s going to be bittersweet tomorro and I’m positive there will be some tears, little grandson is going to change so much the next time I see him :(.
On the bright side I will get to see my husband and grandsons who I miss too

Age is different for everyone. Just remember that.

My father is 81 and mom turns 80 in December and they are still quite independent. We are very fortunate. Still, I don't think they would have the patience to wait more than 20 minutes. I guess I get my impatience from them. LOL
Aw, Lindley, good luck with the separation. It does sound like it will be bittersweet.

*panics about future*
It's just I have seen my father in a very kuick few years from being aggressive on waiting to just sitting there waiting for someone to help him. It is sad.

Also you must remember older people in Japan are used to waiting until they are told to do something. Few stand up for their rights. Another cultural difference....
