Going to the doctor with Caitlyn for a baby check. The doctor has ordered one last ultrasound to determine baby's size, last visit she measured big, so they want a look-see.
Then delivering bows, picking up odds and ends from the store, and, finally, home to put up trees.
But! As soon as Jesse has left for work, I'm going to bed.
Happy Thursday.

Pretty gray here. Work is calming down.
However, I had to explain to a lead what his role is versus mine. He is new and just didn't get it. Frustrating.

Good afternoon, Lily, Trudy, Lindley and IKWTDS! Cold and blustery here as well. We did not like waking up to 3 degrees this morning, but it will be in the low 60's on Saturday! The wild temp swing will add to all the illness's going around, blah!
We leave for Omaha tomorrow. Taking DD's youngest with us. The two boys got robbed this summer of time together. Having no bridges really cut into family time this year.
Mom is trying one more round of chemo and then they are going to stop. I think she wants one more Christmas baking day with her girls. Hope she makes it, but I'm not counting on it. I hate the phone right now.
Lindley, so glad you get to spend so much time with your little grandsons. The best time of your life right now.
Lily, I bet your getting really excited for the grandbaby to arrive!
Trudy, how are YOU feeling?
IKWTDS, newbies can be so frustrating. Hope it works out well for all! How's that bathroom redo coming along?
I already hate winter...

Morning lily and Trudy☀️ How much longer till your granddaughters arrival lily? Got both boys today, cold, wet and gray here.
She is due the 22nd. I don't think she'll make it.

I'm sorry. It's a hard position, the wanting for more, the understanding why it might not happen. Each day is a gift, but it's a bittersweet reality. Praying for peace, comfort, and joy for you all.
And, yes, I am super excited about the grandbaby.

Baby report! Caitlyn is right where she should be with all her numbers. The ultrasound today showed Jewel is approximately 7.6 pounds, and about 20 inches long. And you can see her hair on the ultrasound, it's at least an inch long.
She is dilated only 1 cm, but she is 50% effaced. Last week, there was no change, this week there is considerable thinning.
I think once she begins contracting, it won't take long.

Such exciting news for Caitlyn, a baby by thanksgiving possibly, Czech I’m so sorry to hear about your mom, prayerfully she will be granted her wish to bake Christmas cookies with her daughters. Is she up to doing a little now and freeze the dough?
Yay babies and grandbabies! Czech, I'm glad you get to catch up on family time - hopefully. I'm sorry to hear about your mom. Tell her that i have my fingers crossed for her, that the Christmas cookie gathering is a raging success.
So, for the record. Online dating is stupid. Don't match me, start a convo and THEN look at my profile. My profile is pretty clear on stuff (e.g. I don't smoke weed and won't date anyone who does - in better words, of course) so if you message me and tell me that you're all into week culture, we're not a match. Read the damn thing FIRST!
I just burned my knee on the edge of the oven door. 😩

DH and I met on Match. We were
both brutally honest about what
we did and did not like, and what
we expected. We've been
successfully married for over
seven years now. He's still my
best friend and supported in all
my projects.
Freakin so happy and such dumb luck. I bought a new washer a few weeks ago but did not get the matching dryer since my dryer was fine. Well a few days after the washer was installed, the dryer worked but not so well. So I put the matching dryer into my "cart" about two weeks ago. I finally bit the bullet and went into the cart about 15 minutes ago, and isn't the dryer a black Friday deal, $250 less. GO ME

I just burned my knee on the edge of the oven door. 😩
How did that happen Ouchie
Clumsily. 😄
I had the door open, getting the potatoes out, and I guess I just got too close.
I have a small, very thin, red line, about 2 inches long across my knee.

You have to come up with a good story. Something about heroically rescuing small children.
Yesterday, I took a walk in the woods. It was damp, cool, and dreary, but I needed some time to collect my thoughts. As I neared my favorite place to sit and think, I heard a rustling in the leaves. I glanced around, saw nothing, and made myself comfortable on a stump.
After a few minutes of peaceful solitude, staring blankly into the woods, I felt a slight tug on my foot. Looking down, a vine, was entwined around my ankle. As I bent to remove it, I caught a glimpse of movement to my left. But whatever it was, was gone. Then to my right, another blur. I wasn't alone, but what was it?
I freed my ankles, stood to leave, and as I turned and took a step, I tripped over something. As I lay on the ground, I saw a tiny figure rise slowly from the leaves. The body of a man, long, glimmering wings, clothed in petals and leaves. He smiled brilliantly. I was not believing what I saw, it was too fanciful, I blinked, sat up, and there were more.
Suddenly I was surrounded but 100s of tiny, flying, shimmering people. I was in awe. This was the stuff of dreams. The first little guy came close, he was beautiful, completely. He reached out, touched my cheek with his tiny hand. That's when I felt a searing pain.
While I was focusing on the one, the others had been busy. When I fell, I ripped the knee of my jeans, it was the perfect opening. It was as if I was mesmerized until the pain started, I looked down in time to see one of the creatures use what looked like a sword, attempt to slice my exposed knee.
I swatted him away, but another came. Every time I swatted them away more would come. I got to my feet, the first little guy was still in my face, his smile had become sinister, he is holding his own sword.
I fought with these things until I reached the edge of the woods. I can't believe what just happened. It couldn't been real. Could it? The only proof I have is this tiny, red, 2 inch mark on my knee.

Much better.
