Wow. Those managers are lucky. In all my years of working and managing in restaurants, we never got a thing.

I never got a ham or turkey anywhere. My brother used to get a ham from McDonnell Douglas and he would give it to me because I would host Christmas Eve. It sure helped.
Back in the good old days, when Wayne was still in Ohio, and the Director of Purchasing, we would get so many gifts of food... Honey Baked Hams, Omaha Steaks, Harry and David gift baskets...we would share with both sides of the family.
No way, could we use it all, or even store it.
We came to Texas. The recession hit. Wayne changed companies.
The doctor mom used to work for gave his office staff turkeys and hams. That was always nice.
Dad's work gives a Christmas bonus, it's usually a weeks pay.

When I worked at the first preschool they gave me a canned ham, such a joy for a 18 yr old but my mom really appreciated it, a restaurant where I worked gave us 10 dollar gift certificates to a local department store and 2pd boxes of sees candies for highest sales, my bf now husband reaped that benefit.

When DS went to college he worked at UPS and every employee received a Turkey each year. I didn't host Thanksgiving, always at Mom's or my Sister's so the Turkey had to be cooked later. He likes a full turkey meal, me not so much but I had to do another full meal every year. :headdesk:

This year, my brother is brining and smoking our turkey. I'm really excited about it.

When I managed restaurants we got 1 think for Thanksgiving .... more work. And, we got it twice because in resorts we also recognize American Thanksgiving so that our guests can celebrate their holiday.
