Good morning! Watching the boys today, DIL is going to her dr and hopefully tell her they will induce labor in the morning. Had three deer in my backyard this morning. Hope mittens feels better Trudy, hello fwm, hope they get that tower down.
Wow, super windy here with gusts over 50mph. Oh, good morning!
I hate some customers . . .
I had a horrible day yesterday at work. First a co-worker tried to get me in trouble, then a few customers were just miserable. But, one "gentleman" at the end of my shift got super nasty while I was trying to explain that in order to get the sale price on Turkey Hill ice cream, he needed to buy two. He insisted there was no signage there to indicate that. I pleasantly told him I'd go look (even though I knew the signs were posted) and walked away. He kept yelling at me that he was right blah blah blah. He then followed me down the aisle. Of course, when I pointed it out to him, he got even more belligerent so I walked away and went back to my station at self scan. I was busy with another customer and he screamed at me to "take this off" as he was holding one of our brand ice creams. I asked him politely what it was he wanted taken off and I would do so and reached for the one he was holding. Well, you'd think I'd killed someone. He started yelling again, calling me names so I politely fired back that I didn't need to listen to his abuse. He then accused me of abusing him, called me nasty, a snake and told me to shut up. Customers were looking at him like he was possessed. I took off the Turkey Hill ice cream and walked away. At this point, another co-worker was there emptying the trash and told the "gentleman" to calm down. The man then told me to take the Turkey Hill ice cream back. I politely asked him to please place it in the empty cart next to him and I would happily return it when he was finished with his order. He demanded I take it back then which I ignored. The other co-worker ask if I wanted him to do so and I said no, I'd do it when the man left. Finally the man finished and told me to, "NOT have a nice day" to which I replied, "it's already getting better so you have an awesome day".
About an hour before this guy, another one came over to me in one of the drive-able carts asking if I'd help with his order. Of course, I said, and started to ring out his order for him. He kinda had a crazy look in his eyes, wide-eyed and just weird. So, I finished, he gave me the money to insert in the machine and I placed his bags in his cart. He asked if we were done and I said yes and handed his change. He asked if he could say something so I said sure. Well, he went off on some tangent about Britain and the queen and south africa and eff this and eff that and just wild. I had to walk away but he kept screaming things as he drove away and then stopped at the customer service counter and kept going on his tangent. I see him now coming back toward self scan and this was actually pretty funny until it wasn't. He came back after me!!! I was helping other customers and saw him coming and he literally followed me around all the self scan units as I kept walking to try to escape him. He was totally focused on me and it was rather funny to watch him circling the units. I then walked down to customer service and went behind the desk to get away and he followed me. I was whispering to the woman behind the counter about it all and could see him stopped at the counter staring a hole through me. Then, he started waving his arms to get my attention, which I ignored. I then had to go help a customer at self scan and he started following me asking if he could say something, to which I replied that I was sorry but I'm working and don't have time. Another monitor, who didn't know what was going on, asked him if she could help. hahahaha Bet she won't do that again! He cornered her for quite some time until she walked out of the store and he followed. She finally escaped back in and he must've left. hahahaha

Holy moly!
You poor thing!
I have no words.
I'm sorry that happened to you. But dang, it made for one hell of a read!
LOL, FWM. I kinda laughed about the first guy and his demanding he was right only to be proven wrong by a woman. hahahaha I'm sure my smile and smirk pissed him off even more. But, the second one really scared me a bit when he kept following me all over the place. When I left work it was starting to get dark and I was keenly aware of my surroundings while walking to the Jeep, which I had already started with the remote.
Oh, and the last couple of days, I've noticed a vehicle parked in a similar location as mine (down at the end of the lot). It's not a familiar vehicle but I thought perhaps we'd gotten a new employee. Anyway, there was this one kid in the store walking around, who, eventually purchased a couple of things but didn't have enough money for it all so I had to remove a few things from his bill. He was in and out a couple of times each day. Yesterday, I noticed a couple other guys doing the same thing and in and out a few times. So, I alerted the Asst. Store Mgr. Turns out, the first guy had been following one of the younger girls around the store while she was doing back shops and trying to ask her out. So, as I'm walking to my car last night after all that, this first young guy approaches me asking if I smoke, well, I do but told him no. I got in my Jeep quickly and locked all the doors. He walked back up to the store. Now, he owns the car that I'd noticed and when I'm out on my breaks, I notice he is sitting in there with the car running and music really loud. I reported it to the store but they won't do anything. I really feel like these three are casing the place.

Okay...now that is pretty scary.
FS, don't walk to your car alone, after dark. Ask one of the guys to walk you out.
At the very least, have someone watch from the door, to make sure you get out of the parking lot safely.
I agree. It sounds like those three young guys are up to no good.
I agree about having someone walk out or watch at least. And, the kid who was doing the trash also collects the carts from the lot so he was already out there being my protector. lol And, that area of the parking lot is pretty well lit but still . . . anything can happen in a split second. It's the first time I was a little nervous leaving work there.
Not really. They claim the parking lot has cameras but I'm not sure I believe that. Once a month or so, we have loss prevention guys walking the store for the day but it's not something that occurs regularly or daily.

Let's hope today goes better!
Yes! Better safe than sorry! Don't take any chances!
I hope all the nut cases stay home today, and leave you in peace!
Good morning! Watching the boys today, DIL is going to her dr and hopefully tell her they will induce labor in the morning. Had three deer in my backyard this morning. Hope mittens feels better Trudy, hello fwm, hope they get that tower down.
Lindley, keep us posted! I hope all goes well for Mom and baby!
Wow, FS. I don't even know what to say to that. Are calls to police in situations of abuse/aggression possible? Aggression in the workplace is not something to be taken lightly.
Hey, y'all, we have sunshine! But it's cold as a well digger's butt!
Need to go to the funeral home this evening. My great aunt, on my dad's side, passed Monday.
FWM, glad you mom and Mere are enjoying this time together.
Trudy, that poor cat.
Lindley, how is your DIL feeling? Other than ready to not be pregnant
IKWTDS, perhaps the tree service is waiting for the wind to do half their job!😆
FS, I remember the crazy customers. People ruin the best jobs. As for the car in the parking lot, you can call the police on your own to report a suspicious car. Take a picture of the car, get a picture of it's tag, too. Call the police and make a report.
Happy Thursday!

Lily, she is doing great, but the baby as of last week was a little over 7lbs and I’m sure even more now, her last one was over 9lbs and she is petite so that wasn’t fun for her.
FS, you had several scary moments at work, I hope your next day at work is much better.

I can imagine! Aaron was 8# 15oz , I was miserable.
Jewel was 8# 14oz, Caitlyn was miserable.

Yeehaw! I pray all goes well!
(Inductions, can be very painful. I had one with Mere. She was my smallest, at 8 pounds 8 ounces. And, she hurt me more than Conor did. He was 10 pounds, 10 ounces.)
Hoping your daughter-in-law has better luck than I did, Lindley! Fingers and toes, crossed!
I'd cross my eyes, too. But, I'd run the risk of bumping into a wall.
Keep us posted! We'll keep sending prayers and good thoughts her way!

The wind was terrible today and I was afraid that Murphy's Law would be in play toppling some of the trees. But none came down, just branches.

YAY! New baby! I hope all goes well. Have her in my prayers!
Today was much better at work, thank God!!! No crazies out today.
It really got cold today and the wind was really whipping. I had trouble walking from the car up the parking lot into the store. lol Good thing I didn't have an umbrella open or I'd have been like Mary Poppins! hehehe So glad to be home. Made some crab cakes for dinner. Settling in now to watch a bit of TV. Have to be up at 5 for work tomorrow. Thankfully, it's only a four-hour day.
That car was there again today in the parking lot but I didn't see any of the three guys who may be associated with it at all today. I'll stay alert and keep my eyes posted to see what happens. I already have pics of it and the tag.

Always nice to read about the joys of dealing with the (entitled) public. Some people just show up looking for a fight due to some completely unrelated thing that happened to them that day. I applaud your handling of both cases, Sunshine. Hope your manager/boss appreciates your efforts.
Reminds me of years ago when I was working the check-in counter for JAL at San Francisco. The flight was scheduled to leave at 1300. At about 1230 a man called and instructed me to "hold the plane" for him as he would be about 45 minutes late. Said I was not authorized to do such a thing. I asked the manager and he said - no way. The guy finally showed up, steaming because the flight had left (don't worry about the other passengers who were already boarded) and proceeded to cancel the remainder of his around the world ticket. The manager walked by, I called to him and he assessed the situation and disappeared. Usual. So guess who took the blame for a cancelled ticket. But this guy was one jerk in thousands of good passengers. This was still the era of the DC-8 and people who flew were rather special.....
On another note, the carpenter will come on the 1st (yes, Sunday) and tear off/down the damaged part of the outside walls to determine just how much work will be necessary, not to mention how much money. LOL
