It's as if we are living in a movie set. The dark, dreary skies lending to the drama of the day.
Trudy, go home, watch some westerns, and play with Mittens.
Careful at Krogers, FWM, people are nuts.
Happy Wednesday.

What's going on is people who are used to getting what they want when they want being told no.
This is going to get worse before it gets better.

First day of home schooling. Working out the glitches. Boys are on recess right now. Every now and then I see someone racing past the window. I think they are playing hide and seek.
I'm curious how many will choose to continue home schooling after this.

What is going on out there? Lady nearly started a fight with the cashier over the limit on clorox wipes.
Cashier told me that a guy got all uppity when he was not allowed to buy more than 4 cleaning products. He slammed his wanted to purchases down and walked out. Guess he didn't need them that badly.

I survived the Kroger run, Lily!
Thankfully, folks around here are pretty nice.
Now, there still was no bread. None. No frozen veggies. No paper products.
I was able to get a bottle of Tide. So, I can do laundry tomorrow. Yeehaw!
Now, I have to ask Paul what's up with the employee discount? My bill was $62, and I only had to pay $39 and change.
I wonder if Kroger is giving hazard discounts to employees, since they have to go to work. They don't have the option to work from home.
(I worry about Paul, more than anyone else in my immediate family. He's out there, 5 days a week. Coming in contact with hundreds of people. Please say an extra prayer for him. And for FS, too. I'm pretty sure she works in a grocery store, too.) Thanks!
I was the only one at physical therapy,
other than staff. I sure did get a work
out!
Got the word from someone in the
school district that they are thinking
of shutting schools down through the
end of this school year. That will be
a great hardship on parents who still
have to work, and don't have child
care set up.
FWM ~
If you have flour and yeast, here's
an easy recipe for 2 loaves
2C warm (110*) water
1/2C white sugar
1 1/2 T active dry yeast
1 1/2 t salt
1/4C canola oil
5-6C all purpose flour
Dissolve sugar in warm water, then
stir in yeast. Allow to proof until
yeast resembles a creamy foam,
about 5 min. Mix salt and oil into
the yeast. Mix in flour, one cup at
a time. Knead dough for 7 min.
Place in a well oiled bowl, & turn
dough to coat completely. Cover
with a damp cloth. Allow to rise
until doubled, about 1 hour.
Punch dough down & knead for 1 min.
divide in half. shape into loaves &
put into 2 well greased 9x5 loaf pans.
allow to rise 30 min, or until dough
has risen 1" above rims of pans.
bake at 350 for 30-40 min. cool,
& brush with melted butter & enjoy!
To get even slices, turn loaf on its
side, to keep from smushing it!
Good afternoon! Went to target to finish my Easter shopping, picked up two boxes of formula, two boxes of diapers, infant Tylenol and infant cold medicine, vitamins, adult cough syrup, tissues then off to the store and loaded up some groceries for us and son and family. I hope I’m done for awhile, plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, meat, and milk.

Great about therapy.
Schools being out will only be the beginning.
Just about every job has been affected by this.
Everything is closing or restricting hours.

Mom went to the store, I sent a list of things we need.
She got maybe half of the list, but she did score a crap ton of Little Debbie's, cookies, and poptarts 🙄.

Awww, thank you, FWM! Yes, I do work in a Weis grocery store. I do the self scan area so thankfully, I can keep my distance most of the time and I'm not handling money! I have my disinfectant and paper towels and am wiping down the machines constantly. Customers are extremely grateful to see that. We have rubber gloves put out for them and us to use whenever.
After last Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I'm so ready to just stay home and hibernate. lol It's not that people were rude, they're not, well a handful were, but it's just the panic buying. I don't understand that. I mean, one lady purchased almost $110 worth of toilet paper; all different brands and sizes. That was before the store started limiting things. Most of the customers have expressed their appreciation at our dedication and patience and helpfulness.
We finally got a couple of trucks today to replenish supplies. Staff has been working round the clock to keep the store as stocked as we can. The good news is, now that the shelving is emptied, it's finally getting a thorough cleaning. lol Something that never really gets done!
I made the comment to the store mgr today that I'm supposed to be retired and working part time not 35 hours a week. He laughed. He's been handing out store gift cards to some of us to show his appreciation. Thankfully, I'm off tomorrow so I'm just going to veg. I haven't had cable for years but I finally ordered a roku box and it's coming tomorrow!!! *happy dance* I'll be playing with that.
I happy to hear y'all are doing okay! Please stay in and be safe!
ETA: Our store was established in 1912. This past thursday, friday and saturday, each day, set record sales in the history of the store. Those who have worked there 20, 30, 40 years said they've never seen the store that crowded or busy, not even on any holiday. It truly was insane and exhausting.

I've taking notice on when people post timing wise about when there are certain items in stock. it has to do with the shipment schedules. I think TP comes in around 10 a.m. I may chart the notifications.

I asked the cashier when is the best time to buy tp, and she said thurs and Saturday morning, that is when the trucks delivery is. Hopefully by the time I need some this panic buying will slow down. I just find it strange that I’m having no problems finding cold medicin, to me that would be the most needed item.

It's slowing, but there are still some with no shame. Makes me mad.

I know , It is ridiculous how people are acting, I usually just purchase a few items at a tim, but not knowing what’s going to be available stresses ocd in me. I bought what we needed, but not more then that.
The only people I saw in the store was people my age and everyone behaved themselve.

Had to get a refill on some medicine today so off to the hospital. Wondered what kind of hassle I would be in for.
The bus was half full. The subway was jam packed. The hospital was crowded as usual (with the exception of visitors who were not allowed).
Afterwards took another full subway to buy some food for lunch - it was also crowded as was the bus from there to home. Standing room only. But all people wearing masks.
What? Still a panic over toilet paper. Schools closed, etc. But it seem like most people feel that the Corona virus doesn't apply to them - only to other people.
Thinking it may take a lock down to keep people home. Some authorities say the low number of cases in Japan is due to lack of testing.......
We will just keep inside, going out only when necessary.
I read an article today that said it could up to 18 months or more to fully recover. That supply lines will be mucked up and take a long time to restore and replenish.

I just saw an article that the stores will be overflowing with paper products. The milk, bread and other high demand products will build up too. The item that will not spring back is produce. Might be a good time to hone in on those gardening skills and then canning.
