My family is not getting together due to the virus. Will be me, kids, and dog. I want to do a seafood dish but knoe DD and DS may have other ideas. Thinking.

Canceled our big family get together this year, usually have husbands brother and wife, niece and family, nephew and his family plus my son and family, but will not have it this year. We will just have son and family this year and grill some burgers. I know my oldest grandson will be disappointed cause he misses his friends and cousins, but it can’t be helped.
Found a nice small ham (bone
in, unsliced), so DH and I will
be able to keep our Easter
traditional dinner.
When all the meat is used up,
I'll use the bone to make a
great big pot of split pea soup.
SIL ordered Mannischevitz (sp)
split pea soup mix for me, which
is the best I've ever found. I'll
add fresh asparagus spears, and
fresh potatoes of some kind.
Speaking of potatoes, DH got
his first new potato today -
about the size of a golf ball,
but that means we'll have lots
of potatoes in about two weeks.
It'll be the usual for us. My brother may or may not be here.
I'm thinking about having an Easter service for our neighborhood. We have a big boom box so everyone can gather, but not too close, in the driveway and road. It won't be big or fancy. A song, read a couple verses, prayer.
Not sure what lunch will be. Probably ham with the fixings.

Oh jlbear ~ I'd love to join you.
I LOVE lamb, but DH refuses to
eat it - "I won't eat something
that looks so cute and goes
Baaaa." And yet he will eat
"Bambi" (venison) with no
compunction.
After eating lamb roasted, we'll
go to hot lamb sandwiches with
home made au jus from the
roasting pan, and then lamb
stew (broth, not brown gravy),
and then lamb curry, with lots
of raisins, celery, and onions,
served over white rice.

Oh rats. Now I've made myself hungry!
We end up with gyros and true shepards pie with the leftovers. I need to see if the rotisserie is working. We have a boneless leg that is to die for on the rotisserie.
I love lamb, but I'm the only one in this house that does.
