Someone said the other day that a Quarantine Week is only 3 days long. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.
Bored.
Defrosting a bunch of stuff from my freezer that I made in the crockpot that was a fail. It was manageable when it was fresh, but as a reheated frozen? Nuh uh.
3 containers of meals.
Not entirely sure what I'm going to do with the rest of the day. I'm nearly out of kleenex and it's allergy season, so I hope there is some on the shelves these days...
I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I think things are going to start reopening soon. Maybe not for a couple weeks, but I don't think we are talking June 10th anymore. We'll see. In the meantime, I will be touching my roots up myself soon, since our state ruler has indicated he intends to extend the 4/23 ban of hair salon date.
My hair can go months without being cut, I'm growing it out. And I bought color. If this works out, I might start doing it myself anyway. I've been toying with the idea if saving $200+ every 4 weeks anyway.
A flock of flirting flamingos is pure, passionate, pink pandemonium-a frenetic flamingle-mangle-a discordant discotheque of delirious dancing, flamboyant feathers, and flamingo lingo.
At the vet near our house this afternoon - not one I usually go to. Poor Z-Dog tore off his dew claw at the park today when it got stuck in the grass. My fault - I knew I was supposed to clip his nails last month, but vets are being pains about getting dogs in and out, and nail clipping isn't really emergency. Until now.
So, they wanted to do surgery to remove it at the root because it was broken so far down. I had to actually talk them out of it. They clipped the claw. cauterized and antibiotic'd and wrapped it up. I'm going to my own emerg vet this afternoon to have them see if surgery is actually necessary, because I've had vets I don't know try to tell me my dog needs surgery when he doesn't. If emerg vet says yes, than I take him to a squished-in surgical appt at my usual vet. If they say no, than I cancel that appt and just baby him.
Woo hoo! No surgery. Vet says it would be elective and pointless in a dog his age. This is why I only go to vets I trust and get second opinions. 1st guy was ready to grab the pooch and slice him open then and there. All for the low low price of (probably with tax) $800.
Yesterday we went to the club to play tennis (their outdoor courts are open with social distancing rules) but the courts were full so we just ate some takeout on a bench overlooking the 15th green. Today we have court reservations so we're headed over and will eat afterwards. At least it gives us some place to go and feel normal for an hour or so.

Our courts are closed, which makes no sense to me. I live in the suburbs, but the crappy rundown type. Nobody uses those courts. In the year I've lived here I've seen them used maybe twice? And both times it was one of 3. Tennis seems like a really easy outdoor activity to socially distance.
Our public courts, even courts in associations or developments are closed as well, but this is a private club. There is a 4 person limit per court, and social distancing. Everyone is complying. They have removed balls and water containers as well as towels that are usually provided. So you bring your own balls and play.
The pro is still there giving lessons. But he maintains distancing.
The grill on the hill wasn't open today. It was yesterday. My guess is not enough people to warrant it's opening. The grill in the clubhouse was still providing food. We ordered over the phone and they put it in the breezeway for pick up. It was a little chilly for me so I ate in the car with DH, but the boys ate at a table nestled among the blooming azaleas overlooking the tennis courts. It was nice to feel things were semi-normal, even temporarily.
