But I got to have breakfast with Jewel, so it's all ok.
Happy Tuesday.

Yucky day here. Was supposed to have lunch with friends, but it got postponed until tomorrow. :(
We are going to take part of the fam to the lake this weekend. It's MILs Bday and she has let us know more than once that birthdays are BIG for her and that Hank always threw a big party and pampered her all week. Now, we ain't doin all that, but we're taking her and Gs kids and their kids to the lake. I hope it stays warm.

Oh, she's a hot mess. She just drops in, "to visit for a few minutes", and stays 6 hours. And I understand that Hank (G's father) was her whole life, but geeze...EVERYTHING doesn't have to be relevant to him.
"Hey, J, we're going out for catfish, would you like to come"
"I think Hank had catfish one time, so I should try it"
While trying to get her logged back on to her Kindle
"J, your password hint is "what is your favorite gemstone?" "Hanks was Opal"
"J, we're grilling burgers and dogs tomorrow evening, would you like to come over?"
"Hank always made hot dogs on the 4th of July"
EVERY SINGLE TIME.

LMAO. My MIL wanted a party thrown for her every 5 years. SIL recruited my help for her 70th. When she turned 75 she was starting to get sick and SIL said nope, not throwing one this year. It was her last. No regrets though, she could throw her own damned party. She only threw one for each of her children, but she expected one every 5 years. Her children were sick of it.
I went to Trader Joe's this morning. They are well stocked. The only thing I could not find were hot dogs. Not sure what I will serve Memorial Day. Hell, I didn't even know it was Memorial Day until yesterday. I can't keep track of what day it is any more. I did pick up some coconut cream and pineapple juice so I can make piña coladas.
Pools are opening up! With restrictions, of course, but it's great.

I slept like crap last night so my tail is DRAGGING. I dreamed of Oreo's.

Found an office! Signing the papers today. Technically found 2 offices. 2nd is a "partnership" with a high end physiotherapy clinic who work with the ballet companies here. BC ballet, as well as the Russian and Chinese when they're in town. Cirque, on occasion. Hopefully that will be a good funnel of clients/income. It's just a half day a week, but that's fine. If there is a client flow, I'm good.
Now looking for furniture. The space is 180sq ft, which is normal for this city, so you'd think there would be furniture to fit it. But so far no luck. Need to install a drape of some sort, some floating shelves, decide whether I want to bother with a bookshelf or a desk, need a roll-y chair. This is going to be an expensive month.
AH!!!!! And that's the reason we CAN'T go back to work! We went open concept a couple of years ago and my parent company won't let us go back because of it...

It was a misspell! Sorry! Lucky you. What a break!
I guess it's snake season, in Texas. Gack! I don't like snakes!
And they are warning us, that they are on the move.
I hope they stay out of my yard. If the virus doesn't get me, I might take the big one, if I run into a snake.
No kidding! There was a copperhead found on our road a out two houses up.
I don't like snakes, either!

We were supposed to move to an open concept, smaller workspace office. That is being re-considered.
Hello everyone, glad you found a office tig, maybe there will be a huge shortage of office cubes as bad as toilet paper, hope you get some rest njn and go ahead and eat some Oreo cookies, I hate snakes too fwm, hope they don’t bother coming into your yard, glad you got to eat breakfast with jewel lily, hello fnw and oh-four, your grandson is very handsome.
Went to the audiologist today and called and wished my daughter a happy Birthday, it seems like yesterday she was born.

Most companies did that and are now regretting it. Commercial real estate is taking a hit because of it and the fact that many people are working from home so no need for the space. I'm good with it.

Yep...DD's company is not renewing the lease on their offices. They will now always work from home. It's saving her about $1,500 a month in child care and gas. That's $18K a YEAR in savings.

I've been displaced from my office for over a year. Now that the office is ready for us to return, this happened. So we'll be teleworking until further notice. DH is teleworking until further notice as well. We have had our most productive year.
My clothes drier just died. And I have a full load of whites waiting to go in it.
DH found a basic one at Home Depot, delivered & installed at a good price. In the meantime, handyman neighbor is looking at our existing one, to see if he can find out what's wrong.
If it's not one thing, it's another.
The one he found couldn't be
delivered until June 4. So off
we went to Lowes. Handyman
will hook it up tomorrow. He's
a sweetie.

I'm so blessed to have a GREAT
neighbor as a handyman. He's
retired, so only works when he
wants to. I've rewarded him many
times with casseroles for 4 - and
he is single, so he freezes the rest
of it. Over the last couple of years
he's asked for casseroles or meat
dishes that are just too big for
him. If he ever finds someone to
be with him, I'll have to instruct
her what he likes !
