Good morning, Good Geeks!

Cloudy, raining, and cool here.

I rather drab day for remembering our fallen heroes.

I don't think we'll be able to grill.

Not sure what we will do for dinner.

I hope everyone has a good day!smile

Pouring rain here. Totally killed the vibe for my "GETUPLETSGOOUTSIDE" pooch this morning. Got all rain-gear'd up, got the leash on him, went outside, he peed on a bush and then went home. Took about 3 minutes. At 5am.

I am going to slow cook some beef ribs today. And, do some bratwurst. Deviled eggs, onion rings , watermelon and frosted brownies.

We're grilling hamburgers and hot dogs. Thought about doing a london broil, but decided against it. Sides are potato salad, grilled corn on the cob, and watermelon for dessert.

Left over steak tips, bread, potato salad and garden salad from yesterday. Trip to Lowe's in a bit to look at pavers.

I want to make coleslaw or some type of slaw but none of my family will eat that! Grrr. Then I will end with a big bowl of that isn't used.

Grilling steaks. I'll bake some potatoes, make corn on the cob, and salad. I'll make a strawberry cobbler for dessert.

It looks like it might rain, if so, I'll use the electric grill.

I think I will have pancakes. No big plans today. My BFF's brother is getting married today.

I just put the cobbler in the oven. My hands smell like strawberries. I'm ok with that. 😊

My daughter is not speaking to me again today. This is a daily thing where she blocks my number and blocks me on social media and then adds me back. This time it's because I would not provide her with a hand written itemized list of all the clothes I bought the baby so far. She says she needs it so she can tell people what to get. I get that but today I texted her list of all the clothes and sizes. She said she is not taking time to sort through my texts and it's MY job to provide a handwritten list. If I don't provide the list I can't see the baby. This is another threat she uses on a daily basis. I'm fed up and ready to tell her where to go. She has a long long long list of things I need to do in order to be a "good person and see the baby". Vent over.

I'm so blessed I have a good relationship with my kids.

Caitlyn made sure I was involved with everything, including being in the operating room.

NJN, I think you need to have a come to Jesus talk with your daughter. Put her on notice. People treat us the way we allow them to treat us.

Jerk a proverbial knot in her tail.

I told her today I am done. I am done with the threats. I am done with everything. Told her if she uses the YOU WON'T GET TO SEE MY BABY IF YOU DON'T threat one more time then I won't have anything to do with her. Here is her list of demands...

1. File for divorce. She doesn't think that it's proper that we are working out the details of our divorce in time and in an agreeable manner. She wants me to take him to court for everything but there is nothing I can get from him. When we file all the bills, cars, taxes, and everything will be paid off and we will go our separate ways.

2. Move. She doesn't think it's appropriate for me to stay in the same house I lived in when I was married. He didn't die. We split. This is where my business is. This is where people are used to me being. I like the house and neighborhood. I like it here and don't WANT to move.

3. Get a real job. She doesn't think daycare is a real job. She wants me to go back to work as a nurse. I could but I don't want to. I wasn't happy. I hated what I was doing and now I have a job I love. Plus, I have limited movement in my arm and two bad knees. Physically I cannot lift 400 lb patients anymore.

4. Stop being friends with my BFF. She doesn't think it's appropriate.

All these things have to be done before she'll let me see the baby. I told her point blank she doesn't get to dictate my life and if that means no visits with the baby then so be it. I will NOT cave to her demands.

ETA:  Before you start telling me this is a direct result of how she was raised it most certainly is not.  I did not raise her to be so inconsiderate.  On a side note she said I timed the separation just to take all the glory from her pregnancy.  That is how caught up in herself she is at the moment.

I'm not going to tell you anything about her raising. If she were 20, I'd go to there.

But she's not. She's a grown woman acting like a big ol' B word. I honestly don't know how you've kept from ringing her jaws.

Stand your ground.

And strawberry cobbler.

She's always been a me me me person.  Wanted the whole world to revolve around her.  It's gotten a million times worse since she's been pregnant.  And if you don't fold to her she says you cannot see the baby.  She has new demands every day and if you even suggest she's out of line then you won't get to see the baby.

Give DD a list of what you’ve bought and tell her since you won’t get to see baby you won’t be buying anything else.

I already left her a message (since she blocked my number again) that said I'll be leaving what I bought so far in her driveway tomorrow evening and she can make her own list. Don't count on me to buy anything else. Also, don't care if I ever see the baby at this point. It's literally a daily thing where I get blocked and reinstated. Tired of doing this and not going to anymore. She can come to her senses or raise her baby exactly how she wants all on her own with zero help. I am the only one that's offered help. Let her do without. They can pay for daycare since she doesn't like how I run my life. What she wants is for me to watch her baby undivided with no other children present. She actually suggested that I buy a travel trailer and move it into the RV park a block or so away and then come to her house every day to watch the baby. Cause she couldn't trust me in an RV with her precious child. LOL

Her famous words (which I hear every day), "I WILL NOT ALLOW THIS BEHAVIOR AROUND MY SON!"

She had the balls to tell me I shouldn't date in the future because it will confuse her son. I told her that if she thinks I'm the only divorced person her son is ever going to run into she better start therapy now.

Here the lists are insanely long and insanely expensive. But here is what she has worked out. Her husband works shift work so he does one month on 7-3, one one 3-11, and one on 10-7. She says when he works 10-7 the husband is going to put the baby in bed with him and they are both going to sleep all day. She is temporarily working from home due to covid-19 so she says it won't be a big deal to work and have the baby with her. Babies sleep all day anyway. They only wake up once every four hours anyway so she will feed the baby before work, put him to bed, feed him on her lunch, and then after work. No problem.

LOL

Wow.  Why does she think she has a right to tell you how to live??   I mean, personally, if I were you, i would not be discussing any personal details of my life with her as she seems to think she has something to say about that.

I WANTED to have a relationship with my grandson.  But at this point I'm thinking maybe not.  It won't be good for either my grandson nor me if every time she gets mad we are not allowed to see each other.  So I'm really rethinking this.

Every time she doesn't get her way she tells me that I am stressing her out and purposely trying to cause her to miscarry.  She's never had a miscarriage and she is not a high risk pregnancy so all that is a bit dramatic on her part.  Women have been carrying babies for thousands of years and dealing with worse stuff than her pathetic life.

LGS those ribs look good.  I would love that tomato too.

Wow.  Why does she think she has a right to tell you how to live??   I mean, personally, if I were you, i would not be discussing any personal details of my life with her as she seems to think she has something to say about that.

I don't really discuss anything with her but things come up.  She knows the divorce isn't final.  I tried to fake her out during the beginning of covid-19 by saying that no lawyers were taking appointments right now.  She actually got on the phone and called lawyers until she found one that would see me.  She will ask if the divorce is final yet and I say I will let you know when it is or change the subject.  Also, she invited me over to help work on the baby's room but my BFF is coming into town.  She says she won't be in the same house as him.  I told her I was having company and would come over when my company left.  She knew it was him and that set her off again.

Monster has allergies. Itching, mostly, tonight, he got Benadryl. Bless his heart. He can't sleep at night because of it. Thankfully, it won't be much longer until this passes.

Okay, smart people. Am I doing this right? I'm buying 'gently used' furniture for my office so that my budget is broader (more pieces) rather than new pieces from a store where I would get less. BUT.... If I spend more I can claim the tax. If I don't I am spending money with no return. Thoughts?

I rarely find that it makes sense to spend more money to claim something on my taxes.

I mean for big businesses, they  might really benefit from tax write offs but for smaller things, I don't think it makes much difference.

No problem.

LOL

And if the baby has colic he will cry all the time. Babies to more than sleep and eat. They need interaction.

 Right?!

So you can't write off used supplies?  Only new ones?  Here is the states all expenses are well expenses against revenue so it reduces how much income is taxable.

Yes, I don't understand that either as long as you are getting a receipt for it, what does i matter if it used or new?
