Gave dad a new, dress, straw hat, and some new pj shorts. He was happy. We are meeting for lunch later.
I didn't go church. If I went to church, I don't think I could make it through lunch at the restaurant. That's how bad my joint pain has gotten. I really hope the doctor has good news this Tuesday.
Watching the hummingbirds. We've got about 4-5 out here almost constantly.
Happy Sunday.

I spent my morning at the express care getting a boil on my stomach lanced. I now have antibiotics. I came home and started some home made ice cream for me because screw fathers day. I'm going to celebrate myself. Am I an ass for not wishing DH a happy fathers day? Seriously, am I? I feel like he's abandoned my kids and he was the only father they knew. I did call my dad and wish him Happy Father's Day. He didn't remember me. He told me all about his dogs (the ones I met) and didn't remember that they were going to my sisters house today. He also didn't remember he had grand kids. I guess it was a bad day for him. We had a mandate issued Friday that masks are now mandatory in public. $1000 fine if you get caught not wearing one. We went to Target to pick up my meds and they wouldn't even let us in without one.

Happy Fathers Day to all of the deserving Fathers out there! No you are NTA njn, if his son and your kids want to wish him a happy Father’s Day they will and I would say even they aren’t obligated to do so. I’m sorry your dad is having a bad day, dementia is heartbreaking.
Dementia does suck. I have plenty of experience with it from working in nursing homes. Still doesn't make it easier when it's your parent. It's heartbreaking to see him not be able to remember the things he once held so dear.

We had my parents over for a pool day and cookout. Made London Broil, corn salsa, and homemade baked beans. Sent them home with a bag of lettuce from the garden. It's about done for the season with all the warm temps. I'll plant again late summer and hope for a fall crop.
