It would have been fun, back in the day.

Not now.

No way.cry

 You can't even be serious.

Go. Have at it! It's cute!

And, if you get sick, oh well.......it's cute!

I hope it's worth it.cry

Are you talking about covid? Good gravy! I'm talking about the decor, not a virus. Really. You need to lighten up.

Yes, I'm worried about the virusl

And, how would anyone think, that you were just "talking about the decor"?

As I said, it's cute.

Would I go. No.

Be more specific, in the future, please.

 Ummm.... The title?

And no. I'm not living in fear of this virus. My life is in God's hands. He is the only one that knows my appointed time. Yes. I take reasonable precautions, but I'm not going to stop living and enjoying my life out of fear. I'm working toward improving my health so I can enjoy my life more. I refuse to sit in this house and miss out on living.

You can live in your fear cocoon if you want, but stop being such a downer.

I swear, you're like that one bird that takes a dump on anything shinny.

"How fun does this place look?"  And "looks like a fun place for a girl's weekend."

Yeah. The most deceiving lines ever typed on a message board.🙄

I'm sorry, Lily.

I didn't mean to be a "downer".

As I said, the place looks like a lot of fun!smile

I guess, I'm just worried, that folks aren't taking the virus, seriously.

Here I am, planning a trip to Ohio, to see my Mom.

And, I wonder, if it's the right thing to do.

But, Mom is 96. She'll turn 97 in September. And, how much time, do we have left?confuse

So, I will go.

As for crapping somewhere else...really?

You see your Mom, every day...and bitch about it, to no end.cry

Be kind. Be happy that you have her, so close. (I'm sure it can drive you nuts, at times, but, on the bright side, you are together. And you can celebrate all the holidays, and good times, as a family.)smile

I just want to see my Mom, one more time.

Paul, wants to see his Grandma, one more time.

So, bust on me, if you want to.

I do worry, about the virus.

I have good reason to. Folks don't seem to be taking it, very seriously.

And, that scares me.cry

We just got back from Greenbrier resort. So far none of us are having any symptoms. But we took precautions when we were there, when we could. Only 50% wore masks, if that. Mostly the elderly were wearing them. I wore mine when we were riding in the van with others when we were transported to areas where we participated in activities. That was the time I was a little nervous, being in a closed car with others. No one sneezed or coughed. Other than the van rides, everyone did what they could to distance themselves from each other.

My 80+ year old parents went as well. They did not ride in the van, I told them it was full and there was no room. Which was true the second time. They wore their masks quite a bit. We hand sanitized a lot and washed hands a lot and used tissues to touch door handles, elevator buttons, etc. We did what we could to be careful, yet still get out and live life and enjoy ourselves.

Interesting note: Rooms are not being cleaned/serviced during our stay. Towels are brought in at turn down, and ice buckets are filled. They freshen up the room a bit but do not make beds up. Just an FYI for anyone traveling. Don't expect the usual service.

It sounds like you and your family, took the right precautions, FNW.

Hopefully, all will be well. Fingers crossed!

I'm glad you and your family, had a good time.smile

(Mask wearing, has gone way up, in Texas. I hope it will help. Our numbers, are scary.)

Be safe, everyone!

Have fun! And be as safe as can be.

I don't want any of our peeps, to get sick.

(I know...I'm a worrier. Just, take care.)smile

I worry too.  Although I think this is overblown I still adhere to safety precautions.  I pretty much choose not to go out much.  Which is why my living room is being redecorated and my garden is done.

I don't think, it was overblown, IKWTDS.

We got such conflicting reports, early on, on what we should do. Or, not do.

It's hard, to keep it all straight.

I think, had folks been more careful, and taken it, more seriously, sooner... we wouldn't be in this trouble, now.

And sadly, I think we are in trouble.cry

I will keep praying, for us all.

Mask wearing has gone up because it is a law now. We have no choice anymore. Ridiculous. Texas got caught lying about their covid cases. 6% of their "new" cases were proven to be false. Also, two women in Tyler, Texas waited in line two hours to get tested. They left without being tested because the wait was so long. The next day both women were called and notified that their tests were positive. They both questioned how their tests could be positive if they were never even tested. The center insisted their tests were positive. That's some shady **** going on there.

All i know is the number of very sick people from covid is going up in my hospital.
I can see how results from these mass tests can get mixed up. Way too many people showing up. Someone’s test was filed next to the girls names. I feel bad for whoever was really positive and they won’t find out.

Oh, one of my neighbors died from it. Can’t remember if I mentioned that the other day.

You took a thread about hotel with cute, and fun decor, and turned it into a place to dump your fears.

As for moms, I told you months ago to go see yours. It's your fear that kept you from her. Nothing more. My mom, yes, I do complain from time to time about her.

I don't go on certain fun threads with the purpose of yelling "ack" at things. This isn't the first thread of mine you turned into poo.

And why have you not attempted to scold others who have actually been going places? I'm traveling virtually, and you jump on talking about viruses and such.

I'm not going to continue to hash this out. All I'm saying to you is, maybe keep your melodramatic fears to yourself on threads that have nothing to do with them.

There's a huge thread about coronavirus. It's about 15 pages long. There are others here for talking about the virus, restrictions, and all things related.

A thread about a cute hotel isn't one.

I take this seriously, and I think it's ridiculous to over react.

Wear masks. Ok. But wearing them sometimes, pulling them up and down, and then touching everything is NOT doing a thing. It's a false sense of security.

I have to wear one to the dentist on Monday. But then I'll have to remove it for the dentist, he'll put his gloves hands in my mouth, touch all the buttons on the chair, the same chair others will sit in, and when I leave, he'll change gloves, but then touch everything, and put his hands in someone else's mouth.

I think those who want to wear them, should. Those who don't, should not have to.

Holy cow, give it up Lily. Why do you feel the need to keep picking at this? You even said do what makes you comfortable and that is what FWM is doing.

Lily. The staff at the dentist office will wipe all the touched surfaces down. They always do. Even before coronavirus. Don’t worry about someone else’s sense of security. Wash your hands, don’t touch your face.

Because I'm tired of her Debbie downer attitude on a lot of innocent threads. I said my peace. It's done.

I've been doing this all my life. Not touching my face, washing hands. I've taught my kids, and now Jewel is learning.

Now. Can we get back the fun intended for this thread?

Have y'all ever stayed in a cooky place?

Can we just have fun?

Not cooks but a place so gross we lined the floors with towels and the bedspread so we couldn’t touch it.

We stayed in a resort across from Sea World, it had fun decor. And a pirate ship in the pool.

In Cherokee, NC. there was a hotel when I was a kid that had a lobby full of those quarter rides.

In Pigeon Forge, TN. there was a hotel covered in all kinds of animal carvings. The rails, post, roof, all over it.

I really like the fun places.
