Good morning! I have to work today and I don't wanna! *stomps foot and pouts* 

I saw my first hummer this morning at one of the feeders. It didn't stick around long but hopefully it went to tell its friends and I'll start seeing more. lol 

It rained pretty good yesterday but today, so far, it's beautiful out there. Lots of sunshine but a bit muggy. Gonna hit the mid 90s today.

Morning FS. I do want to spread more mulch just to get it done. It is going to be hot though so not sure how long I will last out there.

My Niece's bday is today, her husband is planning a zoom party for the family. I will tune in for a bit.

Not much else.

DH is already at the watermelon
stand (8:00 am). Even though
the beaches are closed (per Gov.
Abbot), I hope there will be lots
of traffic, so we will have customers.

Pickled a whole case of mini cukes,
plus 2 jars of pickled jalapenos last
night, so I'm tired this morning.
Have the oven heating to make 6
mini banana nut bread loaves to
sell at the stand.

Have a safe and happy 4th of July!
Be kind to all the doggies out there
and don't let them get frightened
by the noise of the fireworks.

Happy 4th all!! Did a little yard work. I got a new battery powered mower. I love it!! Only downside is the battery ran down before I got done. We hadn’t mowed for a bit because old mower died and I was shopping around so the extra messy ditches probably had something to do with it. I need a better weed eater but the good ones are too big for me to handle.
DD is at work but we might run out for some shopping afterwards. Tomorrow is my friend’s birthday and I haven’t gotten her a thing. I’m stumped. She got me a very expensive antique cast iron frog door stopper for mine. I had my eye on it but didn’t want to fork out what the guy was asking.
We are grilling steaks later.
Off to get a shower!

I made a flag cake and two peach pies. DS is going to grill burgers and dogs later. I just want a dog with potato salad and my mexican street corn.

I've wanted some elotes for awhile now. DS is going to make some. The kid next door is coming over and they are going to do sparklers. The dogs will cower in my room with me.

Happy Independence day!

Has anyone been having issues with their internet and He (data)? Night before last, we lost all service for a good hour, then it was spotty. Yesterday I couldn't use anything with internet, wifi, or data for more than a minute, it'd just drop out. Calling was difficult as well. All our devices and tvs would just stop working. This is the first time I've been able to get on for this long.

We'll go to the fireworks later, that just means we'll sit on our porch and watch while playing with sparklers. Dad's about to put steaks on the grill.

It's been a bit foggy all day because of the humidity. Steamy actually means steam around here.

I've put over 10# of wild bird
seed at the watermelon stand
since we opened it. We have
a bevy of sparrows, and cardinals
who come every ten minutes to
pick at the seed.

There is one sparrow, who DH
calls Hopalong Cassidy, that
comes up to about 6" from our
feet and chirps to demand more
food! Wish we could train him
to come to our home for more
food !

I have to refill our hummer
feeders everyday - I love it when
they dive-bomb us as we are
sitting on the porch. They sure
do let us know when we need to
refill the feeders !

A lot of my family is from China, escaped in the 50's when it was possible. Came here with the shirts on their backs and that is it. Worked their butts off for decades and made quite the decent upbringing for their 5 kids. One being my SIL who was the only one born on American soil.

I refilled my hummingbird feeder today, and they all around it.

 We have a couple Hummers that will stop about 3 feet from me after filling it. Almost like it's saying thank you.

When I'm sitting on my chair in the apartment, which is right by the balcony door, I can hear the fluttering of their wings. The one feeder I can see from there. The other I have to get up to look at from the door. I'm really hoping more come and it gets more active.

Momala, that's sooooo cool that hopalong comes that close. It would be cool to get him to follow you home. lol You'd crap your pants if he did that on his own. Maybe leave a trail for him. hahahaha.

Lily, you should post them. I've always liked hummingbirds but never had luck in the past attracting them. But, that was decades ago.

Wow, what a firework show in our 'hood. We had some really good ones, and the neighbors really lit up the sky as well. This was the most I've seen. It was like a huge firework party!

Our LEO friend was on helicopter duty today so she flew low over our pool while we were out, circled around, and used the police siren. It was pretty cool! The boys loved it!
