We head for Des Moines at the crack of dark tomorrow. We'll spend Tuesday there, with my sister Monica and her family, and run for Fort Worth, early Wednesday morning.
We've had a great time with my Mom. (Only wanted to tear my hair out a couple of times, when she got on my nerves playing cards. LOL!)
Oh, and when she accidently turned the A/C up to 83. It had been set on 78, I don't know why she messed with it. But, when I started dripping sweat, I went to check, and nearly took the big one! Hahaha! Good times, good times!
Anyway, we're going out to see my friends Sal and Carm for dinner later.
I need to do some laundry, and pack.
I will yack at you when I get back to hell...I mean Texas.
Morning!
Sounds like a great trip!!
On call today. Sigh...
Have a great Sunday all!!
Oh, last night a had a crazy dream!!! I accidentally deleted the group. Totally deleted everything, I was freaking out.
I'm back in bed. Body is not cooperating this morning. I miss church. Oh well, I can watch online, and try again next week.
It's going to hit at 100, here, too. But it's a wonderful 62 in my room.
No plans anymore.
Glad you've had a good visit, FWM.
Happy Sunday.

Another hot one here in south
Heaven - oops, I mean south
Texas. Supposed to be in the
upper 90's, but that's okay
because there is a nice breeze
blowing through.
It's a sunny, slightly breezy 100* here in my neck of the woods. It's truly stifling. Ran to the open-air market first thing this morning for the first time in probably six months. Got some of my favorite donuts and some fresh fruit. YUM! The hummingbirds have been hitting the feeders pretty regularly lately. That's about it for me. I'm hardly doing anything other than being lazy! Tomorrow's supposed to be another stifling one.
It's 96, real feel of 104 and, according to the weather app, should be raining. It isn't raining. It's just that humid.

When you're not smoking the corn on
the grill, here's the easiest and most
effective way to cook corn and get ALL
the silks off!
Trim the stem end so you cut off at least
the first row of kernels. Remove any really
dried husks - but no more than 2-3 per ear.
Put two ears in the microwave and nuke for
2 minutes. Turn them over and nuke another
2 minutes. Let stand one minute, so they
cool off just a little. Holding one ear in a pot
holder, use your fingers to "squeeze" the dried
silks & husk off the ear. They will slip off easily
with just a gentle tug. And the best thing is,
ALL the silks come off!
Lunch was great. But we sat outside and even though we were in the shade I had to leave after an hour. i was way too hot. Stopped at a farm on the way home, it's one of my favorite shops for fresh produce and bakery items.
I have a headache which I am sure is due to the heat. Even the dog doesn't want to go out, except for the deck.

He is having the time of his life. So happy to be in the cottage originally built by his father. I also sent down letters and documents from history that were from his father and grandfather and other relatives for him to go through. He love that ocean and apparently went swimming for 1/2 hour. He is 89 but his heart is strong.
Thanks for asking.

IKWTDS, I'm so happy for your dad, your kids, and you. Y'all need to make a family picture. Get as many together as you can.

This is AWESOME!!! I'm praying he stays there and doesn't return to AZ. Sounds like the cottage is where he needs to be.
