I'm struggling with food right now, thinking of all the things I can't eat, one of which is most sandwiches.
I'm trying to eat a tomato sandwich right now, it's killing my gums. The tomato if too firm, so I'm left with tomato flavor on a mayo sandwich.
I love a good sandwich, especially on a hot day. It's cool, crisp, and satisfying without feeling too full.
I think my favorite is a tie between a turkey club and a BLT.
I think a local sandwich that gets odd looks from those outside the south are either tomato sandwiches, or a pineapple sandwich. Both start with white sandwich bread, they both get a good smear of mayonnaise, not miracle whip, mayonnaise, and tomato on the tomato one, a slice of American cheese and a pineapple ring, or two, on the other sandwich.
My odd sandwich isn't too weird, I don't think. I will use whatever bread I have, and put mayo, mustard, onion, and pickle on it. It's my I don't want anyone near me sandwich.
Ok. Let talk about it all.
Hot, cold, big, little, wraps, it don't matter.

DH makes a wonderful sandwich
for me. Post Oak ham (local to
HEB in Texas) on white or honey
wheat, miracle whip, stacker
pickle, and fritos! Nice crunch!
Sorry, Lily, you won't be able to
try this for a while.
I'd love to get a true, NYC Jewish
deli tongue on rye, with French's
mustard, and a side of cole slaw.
I make tuna salad sandwiches, but
I don't use mayo or miracle whip.
I drain water pack albacore tuna,
add some grated carrots, and lemon
juice. Truly refreshing.

That sounds yummy.
The up side to this limited diet, is the weight I'm losing. 😁

The Beef N Barrel in Olean NY has a slow roasted hand carved roast beef. They thinly slice it . The bun is a crusty kimmelwick roll topped with caraway seeds and coarse sea salt. The bun inside top face is dipped in au jus. Not the whole bun just where u would put the condiments on the inside top. Piled roast beef topped with real horseradish and mustard. Served with a garlicky dill pickle and a side of au jus. Omg
I like going to a sub shop so I can get a ton of different veggies on my sammie. It’s just easier to have them do it, lol! Turkey or roast beef are my favorites. Not much of a ham or tuna salad fan. Oh, or egg salad 🤢.

Don't be dissing on Egg salad! My husband is funny cuz he loves, loves deviled eggs . I tried to explain to him that my deviled eggs are no different than my egg salad other the whites are chopped then mixed. Lol
In Los Angels, there is a farmers market. Inside the farmers market there’s is a deli that has been there since the 30's, seems like it’s name starts with a M. They have the best corned beef on rye sandwiches that have ever crossed my lips. It’s been many years since I was in California, but I can still taste that sandwich.
A good grilled cheese with a slice of tomato is yummy.
Fried bologna sandwich. Mmmmm......

Preheat oven to about 300 degrees - if you have a pizza stone, put that in the oven to preheat
Thick white bread - like Nature's Own Crafted White
2 slices Fontina Cheese
1 slice Monterey Jack Cheese
1 slice Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Mayo
Butter
Instead of buttering the bread, smear one side with mayonaise. Take the butter and melt it in a fry pan or griddle.
Put the bread in the pan with the melted butter mayo side down. Layer the cheese Fontina, Mont Jack, Cheddar, Fontina, Top with second slice of bread Mayo side out.
Cook like a grilled cheese until golden brown on each side. Cheese might not melt all the way, so....
Place on pizza stone inside oven for about 5 minutes to ensure all cheese is melty.
Enjoy!

Still have to keep it off that side, but it was a lot easier to eat!
