The dang things are crazy expensive.

I need them, though.

Anyone have good place I can get them from?

If I remember correctly, last Christmas they were roughly $8 a pound.

I haven't priced any yet, but I need at least 10 pounds of shelled, pecans.

OMG! That's CHEAP!

Here they're running $12 a
pound - cracked, shelled,
and cleaned. And that's
direct from the grower.

Have you looked online? I don’t think it’s pecan season right now. One of my friends hoards them for her squirrel. They are his favorite. I’ll ask around. Check sams club if you have one nearby.

Thanks, y'all. I haven't even thought about pecans since around this time last year.

May have to find a tree and send the kids out to pick them up.

I have some relatives that live in Georgia. When I was 12, my mom decided to drive down to Georgia to them. My aunt and family lives there. Anyway, on the way down we discovered pecan pie at a Stucky's and fell in love. My mom was not a pie baker. Anyway, one of our family jokes was how my mom and "Pecan pied" our way down to Georgia. And, back when i was a kid, we never traveled. It took us 3 days to drive down there! lol

That's funny.

I love a good pecan pie. I like it cold, though. Almost frozen, even.

And I don't want ice cream or any type of whipped topping, either.

At Thanksgiving, my favorite pie is Cracker Barrel's chocolate pecan pie. You can buy it for $8.99 which is less than you can buy the pecans for!

I love corn syrup.

I sometimes use it on toast, or pancakes.

I checked at Costco today. Same price as Sam's Club.

Two pounds of pecan halves for $11.99.

I will never attempt to crack the shell on pecans again. I swear of all nut types, pecans are the most difficult to crack. Those prices FWM and DE are great. I bet BJs is the same. Good time to stock up for holiday baking.

 Thanks.

We have a Costco not far from me, and I have a friend with a membership. I'll ask her to check on them here.

Lily ~
You might want to try this.
I made it for DH's great-niece's
wedding, and it was a super hit!
Have STB DIL try these - she may
change her mind!

CANDIED PECANS – 11/8/19 – FIVE STARS !
1C brown sugar 1t salt ½t cinnamon 3T
water 4C pecan halves
Cook on medium until melted. Add nuts, cook
2 minutes. Spread & cool on parchment.

I made multiple batches (400 guests!) and
these were the first things to disappear!

BF was telling me about one time when his ex wife's parents brought eight gunny sacks of pecans to shell one Christmas.  He said all the guys spent days sitting on the front porch cracking pecans.  He said he's never cracked a pecan since.
