I just ate Trader Joe's version of Pringles out of boredom. And, well, salt.

Put me in the love chips group. Currently, carefully, eating cheddar and sour cream lays.

I think it rained during the night. Or I dreamt it.

Happy Wednesday.

HEB has a house brand of Cape
Cod Kettle Chips - oh my goodness
they're good!

Just waiting for the Dish technician
to arrive, to switch us over from Directv.
Direct just dropped all of the shows DH
and I watch - all the game shows, cooking
shows, westerns, etc. When I called to have
them restore them, they said they would
charge us an additional $30 a month for the
channels we've been watching for the last
eight years with Direct. No way, no how.

Directv went downhill from the moment
AT&T bought them out. Donkey dicks.

Called Dish, and spoke with a delightful
young lady in Denver (working from home)
and we chatted for over an hour. She and
her DH are looking to move away from
Denver (too many skyscrapers, drugs, etc.),
and they were actually looking at San Antonio.
When/if they come down to look around, I'll
be happy to show them some of the better
places to live. She can work on line, and he
is in the oil/gas industry, and there are lots
and lots of jobs here.

I hate paid providers. I think there needs to be some antitrust investigations. Seems there is some price fixing and who knows what else going on. Going digital was the start.

We finally cut the Dish satellite cord after 20+ years. Ruku and Hulu Live are my best friends now.

I think about ditching cable, but mom and dad have to have it.

I love salt and vinegar chips, Utz has the best.

And dill pickle chips. Yummm....

Having some sweet and salty popcorn right now. Yum!

It's another scorcher of a day. They've been promising rain for the last three days. Forecast says rain to start in 53 minutes with heavy downpours. I'll believe it when I see it. Oh, it did "rain" last night. We got about 14 drops and that was it.

Cut the cable bill many years ago. I have Roku, Hulu, Netflix and access to some network channels thanks to my son fixing me up through roku to his cable account. I still can't find anything good to watch that grabs me in. *shrug*

Trying to decide what to make for dinner. I've been home all day and never thought to put something in the crockpot. *duh* I think this excessive heat has fried my brain.

It poured for a whole 20 minutes. Now it's just hot.

I checked the radar again and it showed a massive storm right over where I live. We got approximately 210 drops of rain and that was it. But, the temp dropped about ten degrees so that's a plus I guess. Still muggy and hot though.

Just had a big burger and fries! Well, almost all of it. Half of it filled me up.

And I realized my jaw and teeth on the side I had the tooth pulled is still sore.

We're ditching cable tomorrow. Going to sling. I'm exceptionally tired today for some reason.

We had a few more drops of rain but nothing to write home about. It did cool things off slightly. Settling in trying to find something to watch. UGH

Technician from Dish kept
texting us different arrival
times - good thing I had
all day.

We still don't know how to
record/watch/skip commercials
but we'll have to read through
the booklet. Tech had the English
language of a 12 year old. He and
his partner kept jabbering all the
time they were here - in Spanish!

Made a wonderful new dish
called Slow Cooker Mongolian
Beef - and it was AWESOME!

SLOW COOKER MONGOLIAN BEEF
½c soy sauce ½C brown sugar
1T sesame oil 2T gingerroot, finely
grated 4 garlics, minced 3# beef
1/2C flour 4T oil 1C beef broth
¾C julienned carrots 2t cider vinegar
¼C green onions, sliced thin on the
diagonal 1t sesame seed

Spray slow cooked w/ Pam. Stir
together soy, sugar, oil, ginger & garlic.
Put in cooker. In large bowl, toss beef
with flour to coat. Discard any excess
flour. In 12” skillet, heat 2T oil on med-
hi; add half the beef; cook 5-7 min,
stirring occasionally, until browned.
Transfer to cooker. Repeat with 2T oil
& remainder of beef. Add broth to skillet;
heat to boiling; scraping up any brown
bits at bottom of skillet. Add to slow cooker;
stir to combine. Cover, cook on low 8-10
hours or until beef is tender & sauce is
thickened. Add carrots & vinegar; stir to
combine. Cover; cook 30 min or until
carrots are tender, Garnish w/ green
onions & sesame seed. Serve with
cooked rice

The broth will be rather than, but you
can adjust that by adding any leftover
flour from coating the beef.

Yummmmm.
