Driving down I-35 in Kansas yesterday morning...the speed limit was 75, so I set my cruise for 78, and minded my manners.
I came up on three semi's going up a hill, got in the left lane to pass them, and hit the gas to get by a little faster, when a red Chevy SUV comes up behind me.
He wasn't right on my bumper, but I could tell he was in a hurry, so as soon as I got past the trucks, I slid over to the right lane, and as he passed me, I said, "Buddy, if you want to run harder than me...have at it! You'll get the ticket!" (Paul just chuckled.)
Not 60 seconds later, we see the red lights flashing up ahead. And everyone moving over to the left lane. Who do you think the trooper was pulling over? Yep...red Chevy guy!!!
Paul and I nearly peed our pants, we were laughing so hard! (God, forgive us!)
Other than that, we had an uneventful ride home.
Pulled out at 4:32am. and rolled into our driveway at 4:03pm. 735 miles, in under 12 hours, including stops for food and fuel. Not bad.
Anyway, Jessi just texted me. She and Cate are coming down for a visit.
Glad you are getting out and seeing your loved ones, FWM!
I'm seriously thinking of attending a march Saturday. To reopen our schools to in person school. Even though we aren't in the public school system anymore, our school does tend to follow the public school's ideas on virtual vs. in person, and the public superintendent overrode the board and the parents' votes and decided to go completely on-line for at least the first semester in the fall.
Thanks. I doubt it will. Just a bunch of angry parents who want to reopen the schools. LEOs and the media have been informed. The bldg will be closed, so it's symbolic.
They just delayed our schools by six weeks. I've been so tired the last two days. I don't know why. Wish I would get over it. I have PT today. Not looking forward to it.

FWM I chuckle as well when a tailgater gets pulled over after I move time the either lane. I refer to them as decoy runners. I also toot the horn and wave as I drive by them while their ticket is being written.

I'm not a fan of cruise control. I don't feel like I have complete control of the car.
I have mixed feelings about schools reopening, but they'll be damned no matter what. I like the schools who are giving the option of online vs in person.
NJN, maybe your iron is low. It happens. Mine dips and I'm useless.
I'm trying to stay healthy because of having all these procedures done, but it seems everyone around me has something. I'm trying to limit my time out of the house, I've been in public once in the last 9 days, that was dinner with the family and back home.
Homecoming is this Sunday, I really want to go to church. The after service potluck on homecoming will be very different. No potluck. Premade, catered dishes will be packed for each family to go. Still. I really need to worship with my church family.
Well, as my slightly crazy, in the fun way, aunt would say "I don't know anything else to tell".
Happy Thursday.

Glad you had a safe trip! Isn't cruise control the best thing they ever put in our cars!?!
Momala, in my old age, I'm loving the cruise control on long trips! Not only does it keep me out of trouble with the law. It also helps with the gas mileage.
I've been driving Jeeps with 5-speed manuals since 1995. My Beast is the first car I've had in a long time, that has cruise. It comes in handy, for sure!

Lily, I didn't used to be a fan of cruise control either. (Probably because I didn't have it in my Jeeps.)
But, I'm learning to love it! I won't used it if it's raining. Only on nice, dry roads. So, I feel safe enough.
I hope you get to go to church on Sunday! Fingers crossed!

Are they quitting, or quitting then taking the GED?
I told my kids they could go the GED route if they wanted their senior years. They all stayed and finished, but, in today's school system, and current events, I think a GED is a valid option for 60-70% of the students.

I'm saying not all kids are going to go further than high school.
Those are the ones, who in my day, worked in manufacturing, labor intensive jobs, and where considered the backbone of America.

Next week I get another tooth pulled, and it starts all over again.
But it's worth it to get my health back on track.

Lily, I have the weirdest thing where I make too much iron. My body can't get rid of it fast enough. Doctor won't let me take vitamins because they all contain iron and I already have way too much. Maybe it's the Lyme Disease. Or the stress. I'm way stressed out now. Too too much going on. DH has decided he wants the dogs. I'm so ready for this divorce to be over.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Lyme's, yes, that is a major symptom of it.
Give him the dogs. Be 100% free of him.

I love my dogs. One of them I adopted shortly before he moved out. The other one has always bonded with me over him. He's not getting them.

Well, he is being nicer today. I hate talking to him. He's such an ass. I'm trying my best to be nice to him because he's helping out financially for right now but he's still an ass. It's always been his way or the highway. We only communicate through text and if I don't stick to his rules he blocks me. Ass.
