Just waiting for the bank to
open so we can put some
cash in our savings account.
We collect all our change in
a jar, and turn it in every
couple of months. How
much we accumulate is
dependent on the size of
the jar. I like a tall skinny
jar, because it seems to
fill up faster !
got out early to work in the yard, more mulching and weeding. Looking good, well not the yard but the gardens. Glad I got it done before the heat started. Going shopping in a bit.

Slept in, got up and dressed, just finished a very late breakfast. I have no plans other than not aggravate my body so I can go to church tomorrow.
Everyone else is doing things, being productive.
I'll just work on my cookbook.
Hope everyone has a great day.
Happy Saturday.

Treated myself and went to BB&B. Haven't been in 6 months or so. Picked up some new beach towels and a few other things. Felt great to be out shopping. I rarely do so these days.
Sonny has been sneaking off the deck. I used to clip him to a run I have on the deck but not lately. At first he stayed on the deck but ever since DS used the smoker to cook meats and such, Sonny keeps going off the deck to the bricked area where the smoker is. Such a stinker but at least he doesn't go off the property or run from me when I go out to get him back inside. I do like the fact that he can roam free and enjoys it especially in this heat since I can't take him for a long walk due to the hot asphalt, may bring him to some hiking trails later.
Trying to figure out the rest of the day.

I train new dogs with a 50 foot lead. I put them on it while outside. Eventually, they can be off lead in the yard and never leave the yard without being beside me.

That sounds wonderful! What color are your little piggies?
It's thundering all around us. Might get some rain.
Been cooking a big pot of beans since noon. Can't wait for dinner. Need to make some cornbread.
And it just started raining đ.

Beans were sooo good. And there are plenty left for tomorrow.

My DD's baby shower was last night. One of the mom's from my daycare wanted to go and her car is in the shop so I loaded up the five yo and the 19 month old and picked her up. Then drove in the opposite direction for an hour to DD's. Then repeated it on the way home. A lot of driving. She wanted me to stay and have a beer with her so I did. She told me she goes easy on the beer on the week days and only has six a night. I don't really drink so I don't know but that sounds like a lot to me. So tell me, is that a lot? I know she usually has one weekend night where she gets pretty hung over. Again, I don't drink so I don't know if that's a lot. I couldn't imagine doing that with little kids. But the toddler ended up coming home with me. Mom wanted to go shopping today and didn't want to take him so I brought him home. He wouldn't let mom hold him or change him. Only me. Whenever she tried to take him from me he turned and grabbed my neck and shook his head no. We took them out to my DD's for her drive by shower. Baby boy played in the dirt. He was so filthy! He fell asleep in the car last night and I wasn't waking him up at 11 pm to give him a bath so I gave him one right after breakfast. He was running in the gravel driveway and banged up his head. Poor thing. My DD got a lot of nice gifts. Her workplace all chipped in and bought her a bassinet. Plus they sent gift cards to Target. She was registered there and on Amazon. No one bought her clothes because the two grandmas bought enough already. She got a lot of diapers and wipes plus what I have already bought. She has a ton but she has no idea how fast she will go through them. She literally asked me how many diapers she would use a day and thought a bag would last a week. I laughed. She works at a clinic doing billing and all the doctors bought her some really nice things. The pedi doctors are sending their gift so who knows what that will be. One of the doctors she works for cleared out all her baby stuff and gave it to her. She gave her a Baby Bjorn baby carrier that they had registered for. I spent two hours with her on the phone discussing thank you cards. Oye. It's so nice to be included but sometimes I wish the conversations were a bit shorter. But she texts me with pictures daily of everything. They are renovating the house they just bought and I get daily updates. Plus all the texts about what Colt just got, his furniture, and the room they are decorating for him. I must have gotten two dozen pics of thank you notes so she could make sure she got my opinion on them. Can hardly wait till the baby is born! Just two more months.

Glad your daughter had a nice shower, as for your parent drinking 6 beers, I personally believe that is a lot, I occasionally drink wine, but limited to two, but I believe itâs stronger then beer, but not sure and donât drink it cause I donât like it. I definitely donât have a glass on nights before I babysit my grandchildren.
Yes. That is a lot of it is every night. Something sounds off.
Glad the baby shower was a success.

That's a lot of beer. DH has maybe one per day when he finishes work for the day.
LOL @ diapers. We would buy huge boxes at Costco and it would last maybe a couple weeks. But we had two in them. I had to reel my mother in, too. She never used disposable, only cloth diapers, so she was changing them every time they peed. I told her they absorb and wick away from the skin so they can hold up to multiple pees. She had a hard time comprehending. Money she comprehends, so I showed her the diaper bill. Then she understood. It went against her grain though. Personally, I never even knew if they peed. I'm not sure how she could tell other than sticking her nose down there and there was no way I was doing that. Now if they poo'd, it was pretty obvious and they were changed immediately.
I went through a ton of diapers, and I potty trained asap because I was spending so much on them.
Caitlyn had such sensitive skin, I couldn't let even a little pee sit. She would get scaulded.
Jewel has been waking up dry in the morning and at naps, so Caitlyn took her to the bathroom, to see if she would use the toilet.
She did.
I told Caitlyn if she really paid attention, Jewel might be potty trained around a year old.

I loaded up my car with just diapers for the baby shower but there were four of us so I couldn't get them all in the car. I still have have more plus diaper wipes plus tons of clothes and just general stuff like a wipe warmer and bathtub and books and well, tons of stuff. I'm going to load the car up today and take some more out there. I really need to clear out my garage.

I didn't potty train until the boys were 3. I didn't bother trying either. Finally, I let the preschool teachers do it. They had one designated for that. It was not a task I was looking forward to. #2 was 3 1/2, #1 was trained a week before their 3rd birthday. After just 3 days they were completely trained. But as soon as we got in the car #1 would always say he had to go, and we would stop and 9 out of 10 times he would say, "I don't have to after all." It got really irritating and I missed the diaper days. LOL We left a Nats game after 5 innings once because I got exhausted walking up and down the stairs with him every 5 minutes. That was the day I declared this was DH's job.
Before judging that I waited so long, keep in mind that #2 was a sleep pee'er. He would get up around 10 PM each night, drop his drawers, and piss wherever he was. On #1's bed, on the wall, on the hallway floor. It was easier to clean up once we had hardwoods put in upstairs, but still. That went on for a couple years.
Honestly, I probably would have been very judgy years ago, but now, I realize it isn't up to me to care what works for another mom.
Aaron was the hardest to break the bed wetting. I blame myself, looking back, I was just so tired all the time, I didn't get up to take him like I should have.

 Sounds like my dog.Â

My son was difficult to potty trai, he just turned 3 when it finally kicked in, daughter was pretty easy, it took just 3days. A teacher told me not all childrenâs bladders are mature enough to hold pee yet.

I think that was part of it for me, too, I just didn't have the energy to bother with it. I was a little post partum thrown in with menopausal so if I could pass that task off to someone else, I was in a better emotional state. Although neither ever wet the bed. I used pullups the first couple nights and since they were dry as a bone in the morning, I just put them in their PJ's. #2 used to get up to go and really didn't know what he was doing as he was asleep and never remembered the next day.
