Fingers crossed for our East coast Geeks. I hope it won't be too bad!

I need to call a repair man. The ice maker quit working. This happened once before, and it was the heating element that releases the cubes, that went bad. Quick and not too expensive of a repair, so I kind of hope it's the same problem.

Other than that, not much is going on here.

How about you?

I hope everyone has a good day.smile

Trying to get everything done this week so I salvage part of my vacation next week.

Need to figure out what to do with the vegetable garden to protect it from the winds later.

DVD's first day of work is today. Dropping her off at 11. She is very excited.

Happy day!

Gotta have ice!

We are getting rain. About 3 inches so far. But it's a nice rain. The gardens are appreciating it. I think. No winds. Draining the pool now.

I hope your daughter has a good first day of work, IKWTDS!smile

I'm glad to hear the rain is gentle. I'm sure your plants appreciate it, FNW.smile

A repairman is coming at noon.

I guess I have time to make a Home Depot run, and also pick up a bag of ice to tide us over.

No ice in August, is no fun!wink

Do you have trays, FWM? I bought a set a few years ago when our ice machine was out. They came in handy when my freezer glitched last year, too. Can't be without my ice!

I might still have some trays, somewhere.confuse

But, with the freezer on the bottom. Pull out drawer. I fear they would spill.cry

No worries. I snagged a bag of ice at Kroger. I'm saved...for now!wink

Afternoon.

It's just hot and humid here. Barely a breeze.

Happy Tuesday.

DH just got back from all the
morning errands: car inspection,
new registration for both vehicles,
and mini-shopping at HEB. Plus
he surprised me with my favorite
breakfast - two egg rolls, cooked
an extra minute! This has been
my Sunday morning treat for the
last ten years, but since we are
not traveling to Church, I haven't
had these in months! He sure
knows how to make me smile!

New ice maker, installed.

Now I wait to see if, it actually produces ice.confuse

(This could take a couple of hours.)

In the mean time, I have a 10 pound bag of ice, in the freezer. So, we're okay.

Trudy...run for home, if you don't feel safe! Go! Now!

We got 2 1/2 inches now it's sunny out. Fang is still in his same place. My zucchinis look like toast but my cucumbers are doing well.

 Holy moly!

Fang, would freak me out!

Props to you, FNW!wink

(Lizards...is what we have in North Texas. They are nice. They don't bite. I can deal with lizards. Snakes...oh, hell NO!)cry

I know they are useful, and Wayne likes them. Snakes just creep me out.

Good luck with Fang!

I'm praying, he's a good snake.smile

He's been a good snake so far. He gives me space, and I don't pester him. We coexist. I just like knowing where he is so I don't step on him by accident. And I wonder if he has any friends...

We have lizards, too. We have a bunch of babies running around now. They don't bother me either.

 Saying a prayer.smile

Snakes, are not my favorite. And, we have a bunch verminous ones, in Texas.

I do my best, to avoid them.

(The snakes in Ohio, weren't as deadly. And, I avoided them, too!)

I'm just a wimp, when it comes to snakes. Hang my head.wink

I've killed a rattlesnake or two in Cali. I really don't like snakes until I know what kind they are and whether they are poisonous. Garter snakes will leave quickly. I don't mind those. Black corn snakes, which we have, are determined and the ones I have encountered were on a mission to get where they were going and would slither right past me without a care. And those perch up in bushes and trees which freaks me out. I have killed a couple of those who were living under my front porch because I was afraid they would enter the house (my DH and the boys aren't real quick about closing the door behind them). I'm on the lookout for the copperheads because those are deadly and I understand might be aggressive.

Say a prayer for my little cousin. She fell from her horse yesterday evening. Broke her arm and collar bone. Her mom needs prayer, too.

Little cousin is doing well as can be expected, but she will need surgery.
