Good morning! We had three to four inches of rain here. It rained for more than 12 hours. No heavy downpours just a steady good rain. Today is spectacular! Low humidity, beautiful sunshine, my cuppa out on the balcony enjoying the breeze and the hummers when they visit. Unfortunately I scared one this morning so he hadn't been back.
I spent the day Sunday clearing out an area of weeds, crabgrass, etc. right in front of my apartment door. Sprayed it with killer, then spread a couple inches of mulch on it. It's kind of a triangle area but so far it looks so much better. I am planning to scour the woods nearby for some rocks to border it with and have already ordered a sh!t ton of bulbs to arrive early Fall so I can get them planted and hopefully have a beautiful little flower garden to greet me coming and going. I think I bought way too many bulbs but the place where I bought them online was offering such great deals I couldn't resist. Not sure if I want the garden organized or hap-hazard. I'm sure I'll have to give away some of the bulbs to a neighbor or two. Now, I'm actually looking forward to Spring!
That's about it for me. I have a few errands to run, take something back to Lowe's that didn't work out, bank, grocery. Have a great day!
Working away. Storm didn't cause damage in my neighborhood but a lot of people in town are without power. My veggies survived! Bit of a leafy mess on the deck. When everything dries I will just use the blower to clean it up.
Have a great day!

I have a forest of weeds in the north 40. I keep them away from my veggies, but the rest, I'm letting go. No one can see them unless they are up there, and the neighbors can't see them from our evergreens.
We had a steady rain of 2.5 inches, so it was a good rain for the plants. FIL lost two trees and power.
Took the boys to their annual orthodontist appt this morning. #1 got his apparatus removed and is very happy. Goes back in 6 months for possible braces. #2 returns in a year.
Our trees are dropping leaves, so something is changing. It'll be pumpkin spice season soon.
Happy Wednesday.

I've noticed leaves in the pool as well. And my encore azaleas are starting to bud. One is blooming. That always makes me sad. Happy for the flowers, but it signals the end of summer to me.
I've been looking at fall and Christmas decorations for weeks.
I've even started Christmas shopping.

Acorns have started dropping like little bombs. However I know longer worry about it since all the oaks near the property are gone. So happy I had the last ones taken down in March. I still have many in the woods and 2 out front on the property line. but no more bombs on the deck or driveway.

Hate those damn acorns!! A few have fallen in my yard recently. I have one big oak in back and 5 out front. There’s one right over my front porch. It’s the protected kind so I’d have to get a permit and pay a huge fee to the county to cut it down.
I’m doing Christmas with MIL and SIL when we go to Tybee in October. It’s going to be simple stuff.
I missed Wednesday. Busier than anything. I have a drop in on Wednesdays and Thursdays now. I'm thinking about canceling Christmas. Or maybe just go somewhere else.

We have acorns, too. You know you can grind them, after they are cleaned right, and make flour with them? Learned that a few years ago.
But my neighbor, who has oak trees all around her house, thought a metal roof would be a good option. She hated it. I knew she would. It's so loud when they hit her roof and then bounce and roll off.
