Good morning, my pretties!

Hot and muggy, here. I wish we'd get some rain. I don't think that's going to happen.

Not much going on here.

How about with you?

I hope everyone has a good day!smile

Oh, I long for the day I can open my windows! I am so going to throw them open when that day comes! I raised the ac to 72 from 68 to save money. Hoping that helps. We also dropped our home phone and cable. We got sling tv instead. Really cheap. I'm on a cutting costs spree! Does anyone invest in stocks? I'm thinking about buying a $5 Amazon stock. What say you?

I say put that $5 in a sock in a drawer. Add to it each week.

No storms, just thunder for us last night. I liked it.

Caitlyn started running a fever last night, she went to the doctor today. She hasn't gotten back yet, strep was negative, so they did a covid. No results yet.

Mom asked her to go to the grocery store. She needs to be home resting.

No plans for today.

Happy Thursday.

I hope Caitlyn is feeling better, soon, Lily.

I also hope, she didn't listen to your Mom, and go to a grocery store, while running a fever, and not feeling well.no

I hope she came home to rest.

Keep us posted.

Fingers crossed, that she doesn't have the virus.

I'll say some prayers, for a good outcome.smile

She went to the store. Wore her mask. She seems to be doing better, she's making dinner.

I guess I'm glad, you think that was acceptable, Lily.

It's not.furious

If you have a fever, not feeling well...don't go into a store.

For shame.furious

Hell NO!

As many people, in your house, that could have a bad outcome, if they got Covid-19. Really?

I'm shocked, that you think this was okay.

Still saying prayers, for Caitlyn.

Saying prayers, for the rest of you.

Bad move.

I hope it doesn't come back to bite you. And your family.

Prayers on the way.

What do you think? People can just go home and not go out?

Even the doctor said she doesn't think it's covid.

Good gravy.

Get off your high horse.

And stop lecturing.

Geez.

OMG!

Look! A test doesn't mean positive.

The doctor tested to be on the safe side.

The doctor said use a mask, go about your business.

Y'all have bought into crazy.

No Lily, you are the crazy one.

Signs on the doors, of every business, in North Texas, say, "If you have a fever, and don't feel well...please, don't come into our store."

OMG!

Ignorant people, who go out, while sick, and don't give a care...is going to kill us.

You are the crazy one, Lily.

I hope Jewel doesn't die, for your ignorance.

I am watching an interesting series on Netflix. It's called I Am A Killer. It's about people on death row for murder. I THINK it's supposed to make you feel sorry for them or be against the death penalty or something but so far I'm not convinced. I've watched probably two dozen episodes of it and I have yet to feel sorry for most of them. Mostly I just see them as people who were evil or else got caught up in a bad situation and made the conscious decision to commit a crime. There were two three cases I did feel, not sorry for them, but that there sentences were unjust. The most striking one was a guy who was sexually abused at home from the time he was little. Social services documented this and removed him and put him in foster care. In foster care he was sexually abused again. Again they documented it and removed him and placed him in another home where he was abused some more. He was finally adopted by a single man who, yep you guessed it, abused him. At age 12 he found pictures of his adopted father naked with some young boys who were also naked. He took them to the police who told him to take them home, put them back, and never speak of it again. At age 18 he got into a heated argument with his dad and, in a rage, stabbed him 53 times. He was given the death penalty. I really felt bad for him. The system failed him over and over and over and over again. I'm not saying he shouldn't serve some time. He did wrong. I just think man, I can see where you could snap and kill your abuser. Anyway, it's a really good series if you're into that stuff. Warning though if you watch, most of them are just cold blooded killers.

OMG what a horrible day at work today. I get there at 8 a.m. to start my long shift. One of the girls came over and told me a story that happened Tuesday. Apparently, she was in charge of the self scans and when she was walking over to relieve the other girl, she smelled something horrible. After a few minutes, a customer called her over to where he was at the self checkout and told her he sh!t on the floor. He was a little old man and was apologetic. But, it was a "big pile" she said. She said it looked like he just dumped his pants on the floor. UGH! Poor guy and girl.

Today, everyone was in a bad mood . . . customers and co-workers alike. My patience wore thin pretty quickly. Customers weren't prepared even after I was done scanning their orders. Had to stand around while they dug through their belongings trying to find store card for discounts and then wallets for paying. Then about an hour before my quitting time, there was a commotion. Turns out another customer apparently sh!t himself back by the seafood counter. All over the floor. Then, he continued to shop while it dripped out of his pants throughout the store. OMG! What is wrong with people. So, the poor person cleaning it up had to follow him through the store with the mop and bucket. Then, more commotion . . . someone said someone's car was hit in the parking lot. Turns out, it was the Front End Manager's car. Karma is a bitch. Apparently one of the store's big rigs swiped her car ripping off the back bumper and actually moving her car two feet.

I was never more glad when 4:30 came and I could shut off my light, clock out and run out the door. It was a dreary day weather-wise and still is. It's getting more humid as the night progresses. Looks like rain but none is expected.

Yep, it's been a day! Hope y'all have had a better one!

Yeah, I felt bad too.

We had a Giant in our downtown area. Downtown has been taken over by druggies, and mostly poverty level people. Most don't have vehicles so the Giant was great for them as they could walk there no problem. We always called the Giant downtown "dirty" Giant or welfare Giant. Well, that store closed the beginning of July and most of those people are now shopping at our store. The sh!tty behavior experienced Tuesday and today happened regularly at that Giant along with lots of theft. It's going to be interesting to see how things go the next few . . . years at our store. hopefully, a year from now, I'll be fully retired and not have to deal with any of it.

Aww, FS, sorry you and your
co-workers had to deal with these
two problem customers today.

A friend of ours who also worked
as a cashier used to carry a tiny
tin of Vicks Vapo Rub, in case
he had to work with a "smelly"
customer. He would rub it on
his upper lip, so all he could
smell was the Vicks!

Oh that's a great idea. We keep Glade sprays at our registers in case of "smellies". I usually find a pack of Juicy Fruit gum to sniff. When I smell someone with bad perfume or body odor, it gets stuck in my sinus and the Glade scents usually give me a headache but sniffing Juicy Fruit gum usually takes the smell out of my sinus. lol

Can you use febreeze? Glare hurts my head, too, but febreeze, the lighter scents, does not.

Unfortunately, no. We've had both at our registers and both give me headaches. I just head for the gum in my aisle and sniff the Juicy Fruit. lol

Interesting!

I liked Juicy Fruit, as a kid.

As an adult, I'm not big on gum.

I don't like peppermint.

Wintergreen, is my favorite. Usually mints. Not gum.

But, for the smell, I could see where Juicy Fruit, could do the trick!wink

 I remember that.

It was good, as I recall!

(Four years of braces, stopped me from chewing gum. And other than a piece, now and then, I've never gone back.)

Teaberry, was good.smile

I remember teaberry gum. I loved that as a kid too. Can't find it now. My go-to as a kid was always Juicy Fruit. Or, the Fruit Stripe gum with a five pack of different flavors. I don't chew gum any more either. I love Lifesavers wintergreen mints. Or, the Canada wintergreen mints (the pink ones). Unfortunately, the company that made those was bought and they're not the same. :o(
