Yawwwwn. Got woken up much
too early - phone call from one
of DH's friends, to let him know
of the passing of a long time
friend. Not the best way to
start the day. Oh well, at our
age, this should be expected.
FWM ~
Are you doing okay? There is
a MASSIVE fire in Grand Prarie,
at a plastics factory, which is
sending huge plumes of thick
black smoke into the area.
They've closed part of the Bush
turnpike, in concern about power
towers toppling onto the roadway.

Keep in touch - we worry about our Geeks.
I've been watching that on the news, Momala. It looks terrible.
On the bright side, we are in far north Fort Worth. Miles away from the fire. No worries!
Good morning stay safe fwm and enjoy your time with Cate, I’m sorry in the loss of your friend momala and I hope for a cooling trend for the Texan geeks.
So far this has been the coolest August since I’ve moved here and that was close to 40 years ago. Getting ready to fly out to see my daughter and family, excited to see my grand babies especially since I haven’t seen the baby since he was born, going to spend a few days in the blue ridge mountains.
4 roofers responded to my need for my roof to be checked. One already came and 3 others will later today. I will need a new roof. All 4 are highly recommended so price and schedule will be the deciding factors.
That plastic fire is horrible.
Work is busy but going well. Cannot wait for the weekend.
Temps are so comfortable that I turned off the ac.
Have a great day everyone.

How fun! Have a good time with your daughter and the grand babies, Lindley! Safe travels!
Momala, so sorry to hear. Sending prayers your way.
Lindley, enjoy your vacay. I have one coming up soon! So excited and bit nervous. Going to MO to meet the BF's family.
So, I decided to do some redecorating. Mounted the living room tv on the wall and got rid of the tv stand. Moved the desk from SS's room to the living to put the computer and printer on. Threw away the old rickety computer desk. Made so much room in the living room! Kids have more room to play. Little Girl started the big K today so I only have Baby Boy today and tomorrow and Friday I have him and my drop in. I'm thinking I'm going to get rid of SS's bunk beds and put the full size bed in his room. I think I will turn the last room into an office/nursery. Going to have a big desk in there for BF to work from when he comes here plus a futon for the small times when SS comes and then move the crib in there also. That way I will make more room in the usable bedroom too. Right now we're moving everything into the garage and then we're going to have a massive purge. DH was an extreme hoarder.

Have you given any thought as
to what you might bring with you
as a "hostess" gift? People from
our generation would always bring
a little "something" from their area
to their hostess, whether it be for
lunch, dinner, overnight, whatever.
Always made a good impression.
Sounds like your home will have a
lot more usable space in the near
future.
Momala, yes. BF lives with his brother and his wife. His two sisters live two doors down. I am making the sisters a batch of home made cinnamon rolls because I hear they have a penchant for home made sweets. I'm going to take another batch of cinnamon rolls and some home made blueberry muffins to brother and his wife. I figure that will make it easier on them at breakfast time. (I found an awesome home made blueberry muffin recipe in our Disney Princess cookbook.)
