Good morning! It's a bit of a hot start here. Humidity is supposed to rise as the day moves on. UGH! As much as i don't want Summer to end, I'm looking forward to cooler temps. I have a bad feeling though that this is going to be a hard winter. I hope not.
Have to work today. I've asked the front end manager to cut my hours back for the next month or two to get a break. Of course she said "Sure, no problem". Except, she didn't. My next two weeks still have ten more hours per week than I want. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful to have the job and hours but . . . I need a break. So, if she happens to grace us with her presence today, I'll have to have another conversation with her. If she won't change it, I'll be calling out sick at least one day a week until she gets the hint. UGH I don't want to call out though because it looks bad but I will if I have no choice.
Nothing else going on for me today. Oh, went out to dinner last night with some friends to celebrate one's birthday but also that the other is recovered from lyme's disease and that I paid off my Jeep.
Thanks, FWM!! And yes, it's an awesome feeling. Now, I can take that extra money, put some in the savings and use the rest to help pay off my CC debt within a year. An even better feeling! YEEHAW for sure! lol

Do you ever go with Wayne on his bike rides?
It sounds like you have a plan, FS!
I used to go bike riding with Wayne. After I broke my leg, 10 years ago, I never went back to it. My balance is so poor, I'm afraid I'd fall.
Not to mention, 5 or 6 miles was my jam. Wayne is a loon. He goes 22 to 30 miles on his rides.
Yay for no car payments!!
FWM, I cannot ride anymore due to poor balance too.
I’m just enjoying a quiet morning. Worked 12 days straight, 5 of them were also call days. I’m spent.
Praying for everyone that might be in the path of Marco and Laura!

No thanks!
A plan that will inevitably be interrupted somehow! lol Murphy's law and all . . .
Oh, sorry about the broken leg. Yeah, I could see where that would hinder your riding again. And, 20 to 30 miles is a LOT! Sheesh! Good for him for doing it though. And, on the plus side, at least you get some alone time.
I had to cut my errands short this morning, thunder storm rolled in and I knew Sonny would be scared. Sure enough he is now huddled at my feet. Once the storm moves out I will go back out and finish up.
Yay for paying off debt. I have 1.5 years to go on my car loan. The dealer is constantly after me to trade it in and get a new one. No way no how. Since I no longer commute 20K miles a year this car will last a long time.

We need some rain. It drizzled a little this morning, but now I have the sprinklers going. DH played golf early and is home already. We'll go to Mass tonight then dinner. DH feels like having some Italian.
Fang made an appearance last night. First time since we got back from vacation.
Kind of a lazy day for me here. Mom said she wanted to get my father a Peloton. He's 83. He has no business on one of those things.

Did Fang molt?

FS, I did not know you have Lyme Disease. I go Monday to see if mine is gone. We had a Jeep but my DS crashed it. Now I have a Dodge Journey. DH is supposed to pay it off this month. I'll be so glad because it will free up some money. I'm going today to see my DD and drop some more baby stuff off. They got their crib today. They've had hell getting a crib because of covid.

NJN, I don't have lyme disease. One of my friends did that I went to dinner with last night. Bummer on your son crashing the Jeep. Yay, for paying off the Journey.
It rained so hard (briefly) that the
ground couldn't absorb it all at
once, so we've got puddles all
over the place! It brought the
temperature all the way down
to 70! I can deal with that :)
We got treated to dinner! DH's
niece owns The Pig Stand, an
old time favorite San Antonio
restaurant that is approaching
it's 100th anniversary, if it can
survive this pandemic. She called
DH, and asked him what we wanted
for dinner. I had a HUGE chicken
fried steak (gravy on the side) and
a real oven baked potato. I'll have
the other half tomorrow - it was that
big!
If any of you have friends in San
Antonio, please urge them to eat
at The Pig Stand - 1508 Broadway.
She's down to one cook, a dish
washer, and one waitress. I can
personally vouch as to how good
the food is!
Oh Momala that business should not go under, so sad. They need to fight back about this BS, not sure how they can. I Pray for them. They do need to step up the take out and outdoor dining game for sure.

Need rain badly here. Day started out cloudy and the forecast was for heavy rain; changed to rain warning for guerilla (gorilla) rain. Well, it rained for 10 minutes this morning and then the sun came out and it has steamed ever since. So much for the weather forecast....
We ate local last night. An Italian restaurant we hadn't been to in years. It was fantastic and we were treated like royalty. They set up outdoor seating which most people preferred, but we wanted to eat inside. There were only a few tables filled. People around here are still too scared to dine out. We've been doing it since the lockdowns were eased.

Our restaurants are opened back up to full capacity. There are some restrictions. Most people do prefer eating outside.

While I enjoy dining al fresco, it was very muggy last night as it had just rained so I was not having it. LOL It did remind me of Italy because there was a lot of that over there, like in France. I do like that more restaurants are doing that and doing it well with tents, plants and lattice, etc. Very European.
