Good morning, Geekies! Hope the day finds you all well and happy! It's a beautiful start to the day here but it's supposed to get very hot and humid. I have to work today but a mid shift, which I absolutely hate, because I'll get home much later than I like. Oh well . . . at least I have a job. I got a lot done yesterday in the spare room. I can now walk into the room. lol I packed up a bunch of little worn clothing for DGD to take with her when she stops by tonight. That cleared out a lot in there. I also threw away a bunch of boxes I had in there in case I decided to move again. Now, I just have to go through more stuff that I haven't used since I moved in here and clearly don't need. lol

Back from a week of vacation and back to the grind. I logged on early this morning, for my boss to tell me not to do anything just yet, he has started some things and doesn't want me to double back. So I wait...LOL!

I went to the grocery store this morning. They were out of low fat and whole milk. They were also out of canned tomatoes. There were a couple cans of diced with seasonings, but no plain. I got the last jar of dill from the spice section. And they are still rationing rice. Weird things are selling out.

I have a good production of tomatoes in my garden. I guess it's time to learn to can.

Ugh, dad just called. He filed his income tax return back in March. Today he received a letter that instead of a return, he owed a lot of money plus interest. He is livid! I talked him down a little and he’s coming over in a few. I know his return is correct, because we did it for him. This is not going to be fun.

Interesting thought, DD filed back in March also. She received her refund last week. It was 75% less than what she expected, which wasn’t a whole lot anyway. She has inquired on it and the answer is "they don’t know". At least DD can handle the IRS on her own.

I wonder if they are so far behind that they are getting careless.

The hospital just called GG. He has to be there by 5:30 and I cannot go. They will call me.

Did you use a tax program? We use Turbo Tax, and everything came back as we expected.

It's odd, that it took that long. I'd be wondering, too. confuse

Yes no hospital hanging. I live 5 minutes away. They'll call me to get him. I think he is sad about that, too.

We use Turbo Tax also. We've used it for the past umpteen years and never had a problem. It took a bit, but dad has finally calmed down, until he starts thinking about it again. DH is going to review everything tomorrow and go from there.

Did DD get any stimulus money? Wondering it that would affect refunds.

Yeah, I couldn't have anyone with me either. But he waited in the parking lot till they called him and then he came in. I wasn't even awake yet so it was no biggie. They will have to let you in to get his post op instructions. Re the stumbling. I didn't stumble but I did have to hang onto things the first night. The swelling was so bad it really threw off my sense of balance. It got better the next day though. I was surprised at how fast I recovered.

So it was based on her 2018 return. Her 2019 return may have put her in a different category.
