Just made some blueberry pancakes. The blueberries are so fresh. Nice start to the day. I will probably go to my friend's later on for a dip in the pool. We were in it last night and the water was perfect.
What was up with Novak? What a temper.

DD and her boyfriend came over yesterday. I made a delish mac and cheese. I don't like flour in my mac and cheese and tried a new recipe and was happy with how it turned out. I also put my hard boiled eggs in pickle juice and then used those to make deviled eggs. Thought those were tasty. I have been nursing my back for a the last 2 weeks and even had my first trip to a chiropractor. I got an "adjustment" which was weird and did a second treatment and been icing my back and now I feel good.
Headed to work in a bit. Probably just an hour or two. I think we are picking something up for dinner. I’m trying to drop a few pounds before vacation next month.
Cate is coming down to play, and the kids are coming down for lunch.
I'm making Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joe's. Probably some french fries or onion rings to go with. Maybe both.
It's a rest day for Le Tour. I guess I'll watch some of the Tennis later. (What a shock...Novak got defaulted! He's out!)
Other than that, not much going on here.
How about you?
I hope everyone has a good day!
You had me at philly cheesesteak sloppy joes! do you have a recipe for that/
Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes
1# ground beef
1TBS olive oil
1 small onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 TBS cornstarch
1 cup beef broth
1/4 cup A-1 steak sauce
1 1/2 tsp Montreal steak seasoning
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
Sliced provolone or Mozzarella
Hamburger buns
Brown beef in large skillet. Drain fat and set the meat aside. In the same skillet, heat olive oil and saute onion and pepper for 4 minutes until starting to soften.
Return beef to pan with the vegetables.
Whisk corn starch into beef broth and add the A-1 steak sauce. Pour into meat mixture. Add the other seasonings and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until most of the liquid is absorbed.
Toast the buns if desired. Top with meat mixture and a slice of cheese. enjoy!
*Makes 6 servings.

I preserved some of my cherry tomatoes by roasting them with a drizzle of olive oil seasoned with my parsley salt, then putting them in a glass jar with some garlic, rosemary, and basil, topped with olive oil to preserve. This morning I put some of that with my egg while I fried it, and added some crushed red pepper and cholula hot sauce and it was so good!

When preserving the tomatoes, make sure everything is submersed below the oil. Otherwise, mold.

Strip the rosemary off the
stems, and put the whole
leaves in an ice cube tray.
Fill with oil, and freeze.
Next time your recipe calls
for fresh rosemary, just
pop out a cube, and you
have it! I also freeze some
in plain water, and defrost
these cubes in a fine mesh
strainer.
