Got an e-mail from a high school classmate yesterday. Excited because I had not heard from him in more than 10 years. Essentially the mail said: Hi, Karl. Hope you are getting along OK, I need to ask you a favor.
And that was the end of it. Disappointed as I knew this was a scam or attempt to put something on my laptop, etc. Just deleted it. The same thing happened a month ago with mail from another classmate.
So I guess I am saying that if you get an e-mail from a long lost friend or classmate, please do not get too excited and think about whether this seems "real" or not. Go ahead and delete it.....
