although cold I am not turning the heat on. I have my fireplace with the blower and plenty of wood. Going to take the dog for a walk and then hopefully a pedi, When I am done with all that, I am going to pick all the green tomatoes from the garden and make green tomato relish, will add in a small amount of chile peppers. Those did well in the garden. My applesauce came out great. Love using gala apples since added sugar is not needed.
Happy Sunday

Good Afternoon! Sounds like everyone is having a good day.
FWM, I'm so glad the trip is going well and the traffic fairies are in your favor. Enjoy!!!
It's been super chilly here when the sun sets and through the night. I have bumped up the heat a time or two just to take the chill out when I get up in the morning at 5 for work. And, I admit, I've used the heat in Hippie Chick when going to work. But today, it's warmed up nicely. I've been busy this morning with normal chores, took the garbage out to the dumpster, did a bit of work on Hippie Chick, watered the mums. I have some tail light covers on Hippie Chick that I put on when I bought her but after five years, they're rusting. So, I took them off and am soaking them in white vinegar over night. According to the internet, that's supposed to help stop the rust. Then I'll spray them with some rustoleum rust stopper and then spray paint them black tomorrow.
Next up, will be either dusting and vacuuming, or disassembling the balcony, neither of which I feel like doing. LOL If I don't get to it, I'm off tomorrow as well and have a very easy schedule this week so . . . there's that. First, something to eat. I think I'll make sloppy joe's for dinner tonight.
Man everyone must be canning. Went to 3 stores to find canning jars. Ended up at Wally World. At least they had them. I have about 2 lbs of the green tomatoes plus a few that had started to ripen. This relish making would be a lot of work if not for my food processor. Yippee, will take time since you process all the ingredients and then let the juices strain out for 3 hours and then boil everything. It's a process, but not hard. Sterilizing the canning jars now.
This may be the start of my Christmas "baking".

I froze a lot of tomatoes. I read you can do that and use them in sauces. I ordered a couple more jars to preserve more herbs. I love preserving them in salt and using that in recipes. They stay really fresh.
My cucumber vines look like they are through although there are still a few cukes on them that need to grow a little bit more. We're trimming back the tomato vines as they took over the north 40 and are spilling out over the wall onto my azaleas. DH is out with his boots on in case he sees Fang.

I had canned some cukes about a month ago and still add to it with the last few I keep spotting on the vine.
Laughing at your DH with the fang factor.

I did some refrigerator pickles with the cukes and DH has been eating them with his lunch every day. I do keep adding to that jar. We went through the fermented ones already. He doesn't care for my fermented beets because he likes them soft and they are crisp. More for me!
DD is officially in labor. We shall have a baby soon.
