Good morning! It's an overcast, chilly and breezy start to the day here. Some rain is moving in for this afternoon and it's supposed to get super windy with gusts over 50mph. Sounds like a good day to stay in and putz around . . . or do nothing! lol
I have a neighbor who is a big debbie downer and a hypochondriac. I can only take her in doses of 15 to 30 minutes a day. I made the mistake of telling her that we had some covid cases at the store (she shops there). Now, since telling her, she says she has a headache and other symptoms and is isolating herself from everyone. UGH I'm not trying to downplay her "symptoms" but this is a pattern with her.
Anyway, I'm happy to be home and not have to work. Although I'm pretty pissed off at the neighbors downstairs who insist on slamming their front door so hard that my entire apt shakes and pictures tilt on the wall. I'm being a real b!tch now and slamming some heavy stuff on the floor. I know, I know, I should be more tolerant but when they do it, I literally jump a foot off my chair and my heart races for ten minutes after. UGH
OK, enough of this negative nelly stuff. Time for breakfast and a little putzing. Enjoy your day! *muah*
I lose my DH each year to the Master's. He actually went one year. Someone from work was going with a few friends and one cancelled at the last minute. Private plane down, they stayed in someone's home which was catered for each meal. He was in the front row when Tiger Woods made some weird putt which won him the title. That shot is still shown on TV and you can see my DH behind him. I think it was 13 or 14 (maybe 15?) years ago as we were still living in the condo.
It looks overcast today. We are going to run to the mall and do some shoe shopping for the boys, and have lunch.
Stay warm, FS! Go ahead...slam away! They deserve it!
Wayne and I went to the Master's in 1996. They year of the famous Greg Norman meltdown! What a beautiful golf course!
LOL, FWM. Normally I'm pretty tolerant of noise from neighbors. I've lived in an apt environment for over 40 years. I know there is normal noise as no apt is totally insulated from it. But, it seems these two deliberately slam because I walk to the window to look out to see if they're coming or going and nope, they just slam the dagnabit door. So, once I realized that, I got my b!tch on. What made it worse for me was a conversation I had with the female in that household who complimented how quiet I am and that they never know I'm home and that her mother taught her to be respectful. Yeah, I can see that . . . *eyeroll*.
Anyway, my mother always loved to watch golf on TV, which always puzzled me as she was not athletic. Personally, I find golf extremely boring but I did hear, I think, that someone got a hole in one yesterday? That's pretty cool.
FS stomp around your apartment everytime the door is slammed, drop heavy pans on the floor.
Just doing some chores. There was a lot of paint on the bathroom light fixture that had to be taken down so the plasterer could fix the wall. I spent a good amount of time with goof off trying to get the paint off of it. And then I oiled it to shine it up. Better than buying a new fixture, plus I like this one.
A friend in the 'hood is coming down in about an hour and we are taking the dogs for a walk. Laundry is happening now. I did some mopping to clean up residual plaster and guess I pushed on the mop too hard because the mop broke in half. :headdesk:

LOL, IKWTDS. I have stomped around but I have found something much better and heavier that rattles the place when I intentionally forcefully drop it. It's better than fracturing my feet. If I had cast iron pans, I might drop a few but I'd rather not ruin the ones I have. I heard her saying something after I dropped this really heavy thing on the floor earlier today. I hope they get the hint because speaking with them a couple monts ago didn't work, obviously. But, they have a new baby and I feel guilty for retaliating.
Glad you got the paint off the fixture. It's not easy, especially if it's been on it for a couple years.
Enjoy your walk. It's pouring rain here and wind blowing hard.
We had in-person church for the
first time in 8 months! Today was
our Stewardship Sunday, when we
turn in our pledges for the coming
year. We had our Zoom church at
10:00, and then our Stewardship
picnic at 1:00, with outdoor tables
more than 6' apart, or in our cars.
DH and I ate in our car, but it was
oh so good to see most of our
members.
After the picnic, we got our car
washed at my favorite place. It's
expensive ($35 + tip), but it all
shines, inside and out. Two sets
of workers - vacuumers when you
enter, and dryers after the car goes
through the wash. Most customers
only tip the dryers, but I tip the
vacuumers lavishly. The dryers
don't share the tips, which I don't
think is right, but that is the way the
business is run. When the youngsters
are first employed, they vacuum, and
only move to being a dryer if there is
a vacancy. You can believe the
vacuumers remember me!
I went to Disney World last week. Two nights in a row the loud and obnoxious drunks woke me. After the second night the very next morning about 7:00 I rammed a chair into the wall several times. I kinda felt bad for doing it, but that night, all was quiet.
Oh the new baby. I had an appt neighbor complain of my walking. As if I can do anything about that. Said I was waking up their baby. Oh well.
Baby's need to get used to noise around them. Surprisingly, I've not heard this one crying. I can't figure out why. I hear just about everything else from down there.

Hahaha you go girl! Sometimes you just have to fight fire with a bomb.
