I ran to the store to start buying pre-Thanksgiving stuff. No stuffing. (Aside from stovetop which I'm not doing). The entire shelf was cleared out. I could make my own, so I'm not stressing. The cashier said she heard turkeys were short but there were still plenty on the shelf. I didn't get one because I don't have room in the freezer and it's too soon to defrost, so I'll get one later in the week or this weekend. Hopefully they'll still have some. If not, it will be chicken. LOL
FNW ~ If you think your store might run out of frozen turkeys, buy one now and put it in a cooler, covered completely with ice. Drain water as it accumulates. It takes one full day in the refrigerator to thaw, and also in the cooler. This way you will save your space for other foods.
OOPS! It takes one full day
for every 5 pounds !
Major change!

My turkeys take at least 3 days to thaw. We put our fresh one in the freezer and will move it to the garage on Sunday. Not only does it need to be completely thawed but we have to make sure it is dried since we are frying it.
Busy day here. Lots to do.

I need to buy a Turkey. I might get put down because of it but we're having a simple Thanksgiving this year. I'm even doing boxed stuffing but I'm going to dress it up a little. Working two jobs is killing me and DD can't do too much with a new baby. Besides, DS is working so it will just be me, DD, SIL, and new babe. We even fit under the under ten guidelines! Well ya'll I signed my divorced papers! He's going to file it with the courts soon and then in 60 days I'll be officially divorced. I'm rather okay with it all. Ready to move on to the next chapter of my life. Speaking of which, BF is here for a week and a half. It's nice to have him around even though the last two days he's worked 14 hour days. I pop into our home office/nursery and bring him coffee and snacks. But at the end of the day I get to see him and talk to him! Yeah. Oh, DH was complaining about money, how he's losing his job, and how much it costs every time he wants to come see his own son. I wanted to say I didn't care and he should have thought about that before he ran off with another woman but I kept my cool and simply told him I was sorry to hear he was struggling but I was struggling too since he left. He got really mad about that and told him he had helped me out financially so I shouldn't be hurting. LOL Doofus, someone has had to keep everything else paid for since you left. I swear.

Good evening, Walmart, at least the two I went to only had small turkeys, went to a regular grocery store and got a almost 20 pd turkey. Have you guys heard that another wave of toilet paper hoarding is happening again? I went to both Walmart and target and they were almost cleaned out. My son in law said that it might be because of the second wave of the virus. What the heck does the virus have to do with toilet paper???
Here are the items that are projected
to become scarce, so stock up
Hand soap - bars
Peanut butter
Rice
Dry beans and lentils
individual wrapped candies
pkasta
The same thing it did the first wave . . . nothing! And yet, yes there is a run on it. The Walmart here is totally cleaned out of paper products. Our store is on the verge of being cleaned out. I just do not understand it.
It was a fun day at work today. One of my favorite employees and I got to work together and had most of the customers in stitches all day. And most of those complimented us to the store manager.
We had rain and snow flurries for a little today but it was / is sooooo windy. I hope it calms down for the night. This morning was below freezing. Dang, I'm so not ready for this. lol
well, that didn't go well
here's the rest of the list
pasta
tylenol 650 & pm
veggies - frozen
canned tuna
meat - frozen
toothpaste
Poligrip
shampoo
Degree (deoderants)
sugar
salt/pepper
soups - broth
pet food
dried fruit
vinegar
baking soda
yeast
and all of the things that
were in short supply since
the corona virus was sent
over here.
