Good morning, Good Geeks!

The rain has stopped, but it's chilly outside.

Cate is coming down to play.

Not much else is going on.

How about with you?

I hope everyone has a good day!smile

Good morning, everyone!

Just puttering around the house
until I have to leave for my eye
exam. Here's hoping they don't
dilate me, 'cause DH doesn't
drive in San Antonio, so he
wouldn't be able to drive me.

I put the boys out in the back and make it so they would have a hard time peeking. And they know I only put out the boring stuff before Christmas like clothes or underwear.

We're getting a lot rain here today. Pretty gloomy out.

Did you ladies up north get snow? Warming and breezy here. Typical fall weather.

Well, today turned out to be a
crap-and-a-half! The eye exam
turned out to be $65 instead of
the usual $20, because I needed
a prescription for my driving glasses.
PLUS I have to have two additional
surgeries in January for the glaucoma.

Got out of the eye doctor's, and found
DH sitting in the car with no a/c, or
anything. Turns out the battery died -
totally. Not even a click, when I tried
to turn it on. Good news is that AAA
in San Antonio uses Ridgeway for their
towing and battery service. We were
given an ETA of an hour, which is
reasonable. Ten minutes later the
mechanic from Ridgeway calls, and
says he's about 15 minutes away.
Great! 7 minutes later he pulls into
the parking lot!

Sure enough, the battery is kaput
(only 3 1/2 years old). A new AAA
battery is $154, plus $95 labor, at a
AAA shop about a mile away. The
mechanic took pity on us, and said
he'd try to install the new battery
without our having to go to the shop.
20 minutes later, we have the new
battery installed! Since we didn't
have to pay for shop labor, DH
slipped him some cash for his trouble.
And the battery comes with a three
year free replacement warranty!

I guess 2020 is trying to make us
sit up and take notice.

That's great, momala! Well, not great that the battery left you stranded, but nice of the AAA guy!
