Afternoon!! On call so I'm just relaxing at home. It's cool and windy today. Come on spring!!
Chicken wings sounds delish! Good luck on the dishwasher, I hope you don't have to wait too long.
It has been a beautiful day here in my neck of the woods. The sun's been out all day and temps were such that I didn't even need a coat to walk to the dumpster several times. We are expecting snow, three to four inches, tomorrow morning throughout the day. UGH I have to work early tomorrow. Eh, no biggie.
Had some chicken and waffles for dinner yesterday. Not sure what I want today. Leftovers or just snacking? Made a grilled ham and cheese for lunch. Starting to get hungry again. Have a headache from the noise.
Been watching a show on Amazon Prime called Hunters with Al Pacino. It's about a group of people, Jewish, finding the remaining Nazis who commited such horrible crimes and eliminating them. It's been pretty good.
I'm back. Weather here was abominable. We lost power for two days. House got down to 40 degrees. I was pretty much in bed sleeping all day. No showers nothing. Then I talked to one of my daycare parents and they invited us out to there house. We were going to go over there first thing in the morning but the power came back on. Our kitchen pipe froze up despite keeping it running. So now the dishwasher has issues. DD was without power for five days. Their house got down to 30. She finally abandoned ship and came here with the baby. Her husband stayed at the house to keep an eye on things. They finally got power back but no water so she stayed an extra day. The water did come back but at about half power. They are on a boil ban. Most of the cities around her are still on a boil ban. Gas stations have no coffee or anything like that because all the water has to be boiled. There are no groceries on the shelves. No trucks came through and made deliveries so supplies are limited. Even fast food restaurants are limited because of no supplies. It was a massive failure here. I've never seen it this bad in all the time I've lived in Texas. The heater went out on our lockdown unit at work. SB will know what I'm talking about. They rehomed the pysch ward into the gen pop. So now we have people trying to leave the building all day and night and the people wandering. They come sit behind the nurses station and go through our lunches looking for food. We have to try to keep them out. One of them tried to fight us over some coffee the other day. One lady insisted she needed to pick up her plane ticket to Dallas and kept trying to write me a check. Lord, I pray this lockdown unit gets fixed and soon.

Well, the police were just here yet again. This kid was banging on the walls, screaming and carrying on so I reciprocated. He called the cops saying I'm stomping around jumping up and down waking the baby. BTW, the fan is still running since 1:30 this afternoon, which I told them. I told the police about the craziness a couple weeks ago and how the continue slamming doors to the point I have to straighten pictures on my walls. I explained to the police that I'm tired of tiptoeing around because they have a baby. I don't have a baby, my grandkids are grown and I'm going to do my daily chores whether they like it or not. I told them if they cannot respect my peace and quiet then turn about is fair play. The police agreed. One said before leaving that no charges would be given. I said they better not be because I'm certainly not the one instigating anything. They asked if I had any questions and I said just that I'm not sure if he'll retaliate because I don't know what he's capable of doing.
Dear Lord, this is just freakin insane. Oh, the kid started banging on the walls and stuff before the cops came so I stomped my feet on the floor a couple times. He went outside and started screaming. I also told the police that they leave the baby in the apartment by itself for five, ten, fifteen minutes. Granted, she's only three months and not much can happen but . . .
An aside note . . . the baby's name? Zuzu as in from It's a Wonderful Life.

He has tourettes and apparently mental issues, as does she. They met in the psych unit at the hospital. He never did this until the big fight they had about two weeks ago and she left with the baby for a night. Since then, every time she leaves, he turns on the fan until she comes home and then she turns it off. I wouldn't care about it if the fan worked properly but it sounds like it's chipping away at the beams it's attached to, which is right at my bathroom floor so . . . it echos throughout the apartment. To run it for so many hours scares me that it will be hot and start a fire.
Actually, I've done that too. lol The owner / mgt company doesn't care. What bothers me about that is like I said, the fan is clearly not working properly and could be a fire hazard. My next step will be to contact the Township Supervisors and see if they can do anything. Of course, the last thing I want is to get myself evicted or not have my lease renewed. That's a real possibility in all this.
But, if this kid continues to harass me by calling the cops because his baby wakes up, then I'll contact a lawyer and see what can be done.
