Happy Friday! Or not, whatever the case may be.wink

My oil change at Ford was a bust. The online appointment I made, never made it on the "big schedule", and I would have been waiting around for three hours for my oil change. I said, "How about we schedule this for next Friday? He gave me the thumbs up! LOL! So, the Beast will have to wait for a week for his oil change. I reckon he'll survive.biggrin

I have the day off from watching Cate today. So, I'd better do some chores.

How about you?

I hope everyone has a good day!smile

I'm a Jiffy Lube gal myself. I go to dealer when it's part of the warranty, but otherwise, JL. I haven't taken my BMW there yet, but plan to. DH took his Audi the other day (for the first time) because the warranty ended and they did just fine. With European cars, you just call ahead of time to make sure they have the parts and oil for it. I'm sure there are locations where they aren't good, but I've had very good luck with ours over the years.

We're going to the 8th grade vs. parents/teachers/staff annual basketball game. #1 has been cleared by the school to play. I'm a little nervous as to how he will do mentally. He's excited but also anxious about being triggered. We're taking separate cars so that if he needs to leave, I can take him home. DH is playing in the game as is #2. Pray for us!

We used to be the same way, FNW.

Until we had an unhappy experience with NTB, when my Beast wasn't even a year old, and only had about 10,000.

The techs at NTB didn't know how to change the oil in a Ford Escape. They probably Googled some instructions...who knows?

Anyway, they didn't attach the skid plates properly, after they changed the oil.

Wayne took it there, and didn't notice a problem on his way home. It was only about a mile from our house.

I went to Kroger the next day...and it started making a terrible noise.

I had Wayne take it for a drive up the street when he got home...and he said, "Oh my God! Something is very wrong."

He called the dealership, and they sent a tow truck. Gave me a brand new Ford Edge as a loaner.

After they got a look at it, they told us...NTB did this damage. Go after them for the $485 repair bill.

And, we did. And though it took several months for them to pay it. They did finally pay.

From that day forward, the only one who touches my Beast, is a Ford certified technician.

Live and learn!wink

Good luck to #1 at his brother at their basketball game!

I hope they have a good time, and that all goes well!

Fingers crossed. Prayer said.smile

Good afternoon! Prayers for your son fnw 🙏🏻 I take my car to the Dealership, they have bakery cookies, bagels and cream cheese, sandwiches, fruit, juice and coffee in the waiting area and since it’s close to stores that is not in my area I take advantage of that and make a day out of it.

Took my grand boys to breakfast, pet store and target, somehow I ended up buying Star Wars legos for them.. they were super good and received a lot of compliments for their behavior. Unfortunately had to drive 45 minutes in the pouring rain to get there.

I can understand your fear after having a bad experience! If you find a good mechanic anywhere, it's always good to stick with them.

They lost the game to the parents & faculty. Some kids were upset. Mine didn't care. #1 was rooting for the parents. LOL. He did okay. He was triggered and felt like running away and killing himself...but he didn't. He was sitting near a door and could have made a run for it...but didn't. And I've seen him more upset...so although he was disappointed that he still had those feelings, I could see an improvement in his response and so could DH. He went to neurotherapy and told the therapist about it afterwards.

DH and I both had 8:20 appointments
to do lab work. Fortunately, the phle-
botomist at our doctor's office is SUPERB !
She gets my rolling/collapsing veins on
the first try, and I rarely have a bruise.

Since I had gotten paid for calling Bingo
at the Lions Club last night, I treated DH
to breakfast at Sunny-side-up, and he
enjoyed it immensely. Biscuits & Sausage
Gravy, 2 eggs, hash browns and bacon.
I had a garden omelet, bacon, homemade
toast, hash browns, and decaf. We both
took a nap when we got home!

I've been put in the rotation to call Bingo
at the Lions Club, about 1/2 hour away.
They just got a new system, and the
distributor had two men on site to make
sure that we all understood how to operate
it. There are 5 callers now, so if we need
to, we can trade off with another caller.

The money is just enough to allow me to
get some of the things I want to for DH.
I'm gradually getting rid of the worst of
his slacks and replacing them with new
ones.

it did seem in spite of those feelings he was having a good time.

I saw a couple moments where he appeared to have fun. But the darkness overpowered and that's all he remembers now. He says he was triggered worse today than previously, but he appeared to handle it better externally. Still, I'm sure it was hard.
