Good morning, my pretties!

Another hot day, here. I'll probably take Cate swimming this afternoon.

Other than that...just hiding in the house, staying cool.

I hope everyone has a good day!smile

I did a little floating myself in the pool. It's very hot but we're expecting storms tonight.

I went to the ortho today and I have early arthritis in my shoulder. Ugh. He gave me a cortisone shot and recommended PT. Their PTs aren't available until September. I think I'll just do my own exercises until then.

How long does it take for cortisone to take affect? I'm not feeling any relief.

Cortisone shots never did anything for me. DH gets this gel in his knee. He loves it. I'm going to ask my ortho about it. Well, DH's niece has cancer. Uterine, breast, and pancreatic. Doesn't sound good. My parents are both in the hospital again. My sister is moving them to an assisted living facility. I think my dad will end up in the Alzheimer's unit fairly quickly but that is a good thing. Had to go to the DMV today. Ugh. DH and I are doing well though. I'm back to my old self now which is nice.

Hope everyone is doing great.

Lindley, we are waiting for our fridge to die. It's old. We're hoping it will hold out until we get more money saved. DH had to pay 20,000 in taxes this year. It's killing us. We are not cool here. It was 105 today. We no longer have any grass to cut. It's all dead. I ran errands today. I masked up because everyone I know has covid right now. My daughter, grandson, son, best friend, and housekeeper. It's hit really close to home. We tested last night though and were both negative. I went ahead and got my booster shot today though JIC.

Can’t you go to another PT facility sooner?

I probably could, but in the meantime, I'm doing a lot of my own physical therapy and it appears to be working quite well.

Just got back from my regular 3-month
check-up, and my oncologist is not happy
with my blood work. I'm on Letrozol
(anti-cancer hormone) but my numbers
are creeping up. Plus my "port" had to
be flushed again. I could opt to have it
taken out, but I'm not about to go back
in the hospital, even for a couple of hours.

We had a good, drenching rain for about
20 minutes on Saturday. The grass is
still "crunchy", but even 4/10 of an inch
is better than none.

Had the most amazing young lady help
us today when we went to renew the
registrations on both vehicles and the
boat DH bought yesterday. She knew
what she was doing, and even found a
way to get a replacement handicap
placard for the one that expired last
month - and it's good for 4 years !

Good about the DMV, bad about the numbers. I hope it's nothing.

I was rear ended today. I'll need a new rear bumper. The other driver was driving his parents minivan. They want to go out of pocket. Makes sense. It's about $1700 worth of damage. I'm still waiting to hear back. I hope the kid didn't get in too much trouble from his parents.

Sorry about the car, but glad that
you were not injured.

Mother Nature has been teasing
us lately. Last night we had over
an hour of pyrotechnic display,
but only 5 minutes of light rain.
Our grass is still crunchy if we
walk on it.

The kid's father wired me the money yesterday so all is good. The parts have been ordered and the shop will call when they're in and I can set up an appointment to get it fixed. It's real hard to see the damage so it's no big deal. And I never felt any soreness nor did he so it's all good.

Sorry to year you've been sick, Lindley!

I ordered the free covid test
kits on the 15th - just got a
notice that they will be mailed
on the 29th. That's how fast
our government works.

We've been super careful when
out and about - masks at all times.
Our local H-E-B pharmacy gave out
free N-95 masks, so I got my 3 and
DH got his 3, so we should be good
for a while. Plus we have the
regular blue ones.

We've had about an inch and a
half of rain over the past couple
of days - enough to perk up the
grass. It is now tall enough to
be mowed.

Hello momala, my brother had a small heart attack last week so it’s been stressful here, he lives in another state so we couldn’t be there with him, but fortunately he has his wife and children and that is the most important, he will be getting out hospital soon thankfully. Thankful that our heat wave finally broke.

Oh, no! So sorry about your brother but glad he will be released soon and has support with him. It's so hard living far from loved ones on a good day, but especially tough when tragedy hits. Such a feeling of helplessness.

The part arrived for my car and I will be taking it in for repairs next week. We also will be flying out to Utah soon to see #1.

Thank you fnw, it was such a shock, but thankfully he got to come home today. Safe travels and prayers that you have a great visit with #1. I know you miss him
