Winter Break has begun!

This momma is happily ensconced in bed and is closed for business. 2 glorious weeks off!

Took my dad to finish off the rest of his Christmas shopping while DS was in school. He was shocked I could pack so much in to roughly 3 hours. I'm an efficient shopper.

DS delayed my eager departure from driveline. He's been fantastic about remembering his jacket. Well, today, he left it in his classroom. So, I told him to ask the driveline person if he could run back in and get it. She gave him permission to do and off he went. Seriously, child, why must you leave stuff in your classroom today of all days. Grr.

Can't believe Christmas is a little over a week away and 2023 is a little over 2 weeks away. Jeez this month flew by!

Had a wonderful uplifting
experience today.

DH and I went food shopping,
and filled 2 baskets to the
brim. He checked out first,
and loaded his stuff in the
car. I came out about 10
minutes later, and loaded
my shopping in the trunk.

I got in the car, and went
to start the motor.

Click.

Click.

Click.

Oops! Dead battery.

Got out my AAA card, and
put in a call for battery help.
They gave me an arrival time
of 1 3/4 hours. Well, they're
busy. DH got out and opened
the hood. Two minutes later
a former renter came by, saw
that we were stranded, and
pulled his HUGE truck in
front of us. The lady to our
right said she had heavy duty
jumper cables, but didn't
know how to use them.

Former renter is a trucker, so
he knew exactly what to do.
Five minutes later, my engine
was purring. Got in touch
with AAA and cancelled our
service call. They were very
happy to get my call !

Took the car to O'Reilly's, and
had them check out the battery.
It tested fine. Seems that DH
had put the key in to open the
window, and never bothered to
shut it off. Guess he won't do
that again for a while ! ! !

 Aww! How sweet!

My grandpa bought me heavy duty jumper cables when I started driving. I still have them. I've used them a few times over the years. The AZ heat is a battery killer so it's nice having them on hand when the inevitable dead battery happens if FarmTow is too backed up.

Glad a kind former tenant helped you out! Waiting that long for AAA would have been miserable!

We took #2 shopping so he could pick something out for his brother for Christmas. Then ended up buying it on-line. I must be getting old, because shopping in Malls seems so chaotic these days. Of course, I can't get DH or the boys out of the house before noon, and I prefer to go when the stores first open, to avoid crowds. Even the traffic was a nightmare.

#1 called last night and was in a very good mood. He had a good day, and had been playing Monopoly with some kids just before he called. He is looking forward to his home visit for Christmas. We are, too. This has been such a rough year but hopefully will end on a high note.

Hello chef, enjoy Christmas break with your son, momala, wonderful that your former tenant helped you and your husband out of a bind, fnw, it seems like my mall is less crowded this year, even Walmart and target didn’t have the normal Christmas crowds, there were more during Covid then it is now. Happy that no#1 is enjoying playing games with friends and may you all have a awesome visit together.

Helped my Church with the Christmas dinner after the childrens program, enjoyed watching my grandsons perform. Now procrastinating wrapping the last of the presents.

I'm right there with ya. We did most of our shopping online this year. If I must go to a store this time of year, it will be either early morning or late night. I hate the crowds.

I love seeing the positive updates on #1! So glad he's doing better!

DS spends a lot of Christmas break at his grandma's with grandma, grandpa, and uncle. They don't get to see him much during the school year so they soak up time during school breaks.

I'm mostly done with wrapping presents. I usually procrastinate but I want nothing to on my to do list over the break so I pushed through it yesterday. All I have left is to wrap DS' presents (which I need him to write his notes for first) and to wrap the stuff I got today.
