Hitting the ground running in 2024. Had a Dr appt for my dad this morning. Gotta take him to the bank tomorrow. Then DS' well child visit on Thursday. Then I get to chill. School starts back on Monday.
I went to a hearing specialist
where my sweet hubby got his
hearing aids, and got a (free)
hearing test. They also brought
out lots and lots of wax from
both ears.
It seems that I have mild to
moderate hearing loss in both
ears. I agreed with this finding,
because I frequently have problems
hearing the sermons at Church
every Sunday.
Hearing aids (2) cost about $3500
(batteries that need to be replaced)
to $3800 (rechargeable). They put
2 devices in my ears, and WOW !
The difference was astounding !
The technician showed me (on a
recording) how much softer I spoke
with the devices, and how much more
I heard with them.
I think I'll wait a while and see if my
insurance covers any part of this.
I've always said I had "grandma"
ears in the back of my head. I
wonder what I'll hear with these
devices !
My husband mumbles too, I’m not the only one who believes that:). It’s other people who I couldn’t understand what they were saying and watching t.v. Have to use close Captions, hard to understand what people are saying on the phone. Certain voices I have a hard time hearing.

Go to a hearing aid center,
where they offer free tests.
If necessary, they will remove
any wax build-up, and I'm sure
you will hear better at this
point.
They tell you (on a personalized
chart) what sounds you don't
hear.
Your insurance may, or may
not have any coverage. It's
worth looking into.
I have two "loaners" while me
personal devices are made.
I wasn't pressured at all, and
they even presented several
devices that were less costly
than the ones I selected.
I do wear hearing aids, I believe that my hearing is getting worse:(. I’m hoping that my hearing aids could get adjusted, I’m going to call my audiologist office to see if they could do that.
