Payday tomorrow for me, too! Today was another long day. Still counting down the days until the kids go back to school. I'm tired of kids whining that they're bored and "what is there for us to do?" or arguing with each other then coming to me or the other librarian to tattle.
On a good note today though, one of the good kids that doesn't come in as much as we'd like, came and asked if they could set up a lemonade stand outside to help us raise money for our lego program. I said "absolutely!". In about 2 hours, these kids raised $70.00! We were really impressed! There were about 8 kids that manned the stand, aged 7 to 10. Their parents came and supervised even. Our job would be a lot more enjoyable if these kids were the ones who came in all the time. These kids are well supervised and their parents make them behave. A bunch of nice kids.
It was generous people. There was a guy who gave them a dollar for a glass, and he kept coming back like 10 times, so they got 10 bucks from him. Someone else just made a 10.00 donation.
coldean, don't lie to these people. Here we only have TWO seasons. Summer and not Summer. Not summer consists of the months between November and March wherein the temperature can very from 30 to 95. Sometimes even in the same day.
