Greetings, mates!I'm giving this spin-off board a try.
How is everyone? Some of you may remember me from GT awhile back, and for those who don't, I have placed a bio on my profile.I am much the same being; well, I look a bit different now.But at my core, I am pretty much the same as before.
It seems a bit mellower here, so I hope that I will be a good fit.I am looking forward to posting where I can.Hoping this board is bit more active than the Redux board; also hoping my joining here doesn't scare people away.I may not be a daily or frequent poster but hope to participate as time allows me to.
I very much like 12. But I am biased because I think Peter Capaldi is such a talented actor! I like that he is darker, moodier, and more reckless as well as restless. He struggles with whether he is good or bad, which will continue to plague him. He is not a "romantic" like 10 and 11 were with their companions.
Matt Smith did much to promote DW all over the world, though. He got a ton of people hooked on the show. But there was nowhere else to take his character.
The 12th doctor will remind those who grew up watching the original series, of their favorite doctors back then. He is quite the departure from 9, 10 and 11 since the reboot. I am looking forward to seeing what Capaldi does with the role. I believe his regeneration and recovery is the most trying of all the doctors before him, but he is the start of a new regenerative cycle, so it is to be expected.

How about you, LL? What are your thoughts so far?
I have not seen it. I don't have BBC America on my cable. I've watched everything up to that point. But, from the previews I've seen, I think he will make an interesting change. My DH's favorite doctor is 9 while mine is 10. Matt Smith was good, but I thought David Tennant played the contrast between light and dark better.

Chef!!! Hello there, and thanks for the welcome! Good to be in touch with you again. I still have the very nice e-mail you sent me after I left GT. Congratters on your wedding and your little boy! He is adorable; look at those chubby cheeks and grin! I hope you and DH are doing well, and that life has been treating you kindly.
Hello, Bonny! Thanks so much for the welcome back! What an adorable avatar! Such a cutie with those big eyes! Tell me more, please.
He's 7 months old and teething. My best friend knitted him a stuffed Dalek which he loves to chew on.
Thanks for the update! Your friend is awesome for knitting him a Dalek. I guess it's never too early to start him on the road toward becoming a Whovian! LOL I hope that all is well with you and your family. So many changes since I have been away. I am enjoying the baby pics for avatars. Makes me smile when I visit the board. (Someone told me I need to smile more, so this is great practice!)
I too, have had another baby, another girl!! She is 2 months old now. The geek in me tried talking DH into naming her River, but he said if we did a Doctor Who name it had to be Amy- so we had to settle on something different, lol.

I'm glad you got the email :) And, thanks :) It's been quite the journey entering wifehood then motherhood. It's so fascinating watching my son learn new things. Life has been good for the most part. Like the average person's life, there are ebbs and flows. I recently experienced the loss of my Grandpa and am still disoriented from that. It's so strange not having him around. Lil Dude has been doing the phbbbbt thing Grandpa taught him a lot lately so I've been thinking a lot about Grandpa.
How have you been? I hope things have been going well for you and, likewise, that life has been treating you kindly.

Since baby pics make you smile...

NAOW, hello there! Good to see you here as well. Your baby girl is a such a cutie! A heartbreaker for sure! What name did you finally decide on? Somestimes it is a challenge being a Whovian! LOL
Such adorable and sweet babies on this board!
I am doing okay. Mainly working and doing my best to keep my head above water. Trying to get more sleep and slow down my racing brain (which is futile anyway), but I have to keep myself occupied! Hope to be able to contribute more to this board. Have a great weekend!

I am very sorry to learn about your Grandpa. My sympathies and condolences to you and your family. It is, however, wonderful that he got to meet his great grandson. I hope that memories of your Grandpa will comfort you as you grieve.
Life can be fleeting. There are so many challenges, but without them, we cannot grow and thrive as beings. Just take all the time to grieve as you need to, regardless of what others say.
Oh, and I agree that there should be a Geek babies club. You could do Geek baby meets.
I am doing okay. I just roll with the challenges and try to keep my head above water. I continue to live the best life I can, and to sincerely walk and walk and talk the talk. That's about all I can do.
Take good care of yourself and your family. Hope you all have an enjoyable weekend!
