So, I went this morning and had my vitality check for our insurance plan. I'm healthier than I thought. My cholesterol levels are excellent, and my fasting blood sugar is good, and my blood pressure is awesome. My body mass index is right on the line between healthy and overweight - so losing a few pounds is in order.
But, my triglycerides are a little too high. Sooooo, I have to get that lower. Any ideas?

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
Triglycerides are a type of fat found in your blood. Your body uses them for energy.
You need some triglycerides for good health. But high triglycerides might raise your risk of heart disease and may be a sign of metabolic syndrome.
Metabolic syndrome is the combination of high blood pressure, high blood sugar, too much fat around the waist, low HDL ("good") cholesterol, and high triglycerides. Metabolic syndrome increases your risk for heart disease, diabetes, and stroke.
A blood test that measures your cholesterol also measures your triglycerides. For a general idea about your triglycerides level, compare your test results to the following:1
•Normal is less than 150.
•Borderline-high is 150 to 199.
•High is 200 to 499.
•Very high is 500 or higher.
My level is 177.

I didn't hear that, I didn't hear that, I didn't hear that...
More for Vette and me!!!
It might be hereditary - and if it is, it isn't anything to worry about. That's what my doc told me and it's what I choose to believe. Lol. (The high trig.)
