So what Saturday

Went to Zumba but our instructor showed up sick as a dog so we sent her home. She couldn't call anyone in charge since the office isn't open yet at that time so she dragged her butt in, poor thing. We all stood a few feet away giving her medical advice on what she should do before she left. I've been grocery shopping, cleaned the carpet, cleaned the kitchen, did a little laundry...... Speaking of groceries... spent over $200 and really didn't get a ton of food! Sheesh!

It always astounds me how fast groceries add up and I'm like what? That's all I got for a hundred bucks?

I've been cleaning today too, washing bedsheets and my dog and all his bedding. Now I'm hiding in my room because my bf and his son are driving me up the wall.

Can I come too!?  Believe it or not the little podunk airport near us makes the best darn fried pickles in all of creation!  And I like pudding pops too!

I've done four loads of regular laundry and then stripped and washed four beds worth of sheets.  DH has been busy too.  Tomorrow he's promised to clean out the garage.

Dang NJN! I'm glad I only have to do two beds! But we are running out of laundry soap so I can't even finish unless I get my lazy butt up to get some from the store :(

I have been stripping beds also. 3 beds worth of sheets and blankets, plus the dog bedding and every towel we own...and I haven't even started the clothes yet.

Cleaning like a crazy person. My parents are coming for a visit in 12 days. Is it just me, or when your mom comes to visit, do you clean like it's the freaking Queen coming? My mom is picky, doesn't like clutter, only had one child, AND we had a cleaning lady. So when she sees dust she wrinkles up her nose. It's easier to clean ahead of time than it is to ignore the faces she makes. But I love her!

Hand her a dust mop, and then take a picture of her face for us.

You not longer have to prove yourself to her. Maybe you could accept that you are her equal, an adult making your own decisions.

She won't accept that until you do.

I clean like a fool when expecting company. I pull out the fridge and stove and clean behind it, it's crazy.

My child can now crawl like a mofo and follows me from room to room. We are going to Mass, the park and then lunch with a friend since hubby has to work this weekend.

Watch out.  They get real fast and sneaky. You will be chasing him for the next 18 years!

Ok good. Glad it isn't just me! And once I start I end up doing things like this that no one would ever see.  While I am at it I might as well!

Ed - I have a great relationship with my mom. But I don't think we are equals. We may both be adults, but we aren't equals. She is my mother and I am her daughter.  I will always look to her for advice and guidance. I know that while we are both grown women, one of us has more life experience and I respect her for that. I do what I want and I don't let her run my life, but when she comes to visit, she can forget that I have more kids, pets, etc the she did while she was raising me. I clean so that I may enjoy my time with her without worrying about every facial expression. It's easier. Plus it's the nice thing to do and I don't mind being nice to my family.

Well yeah, food is a given. Even just gracing them with my presence should be repaid with edibles.

Are pudding pops anything like those flinstone push up pop things? That's what I keep thinking of when you say pudding pops.

Not exactly. They are kinda like fudge pops, but creamier. A little like soft-serve ice cream

A pudding pop is like a fudgesicle but it's frozen pudding.

Now I'm hungry. I have pumpkin spice Oreos but I'm having bloodwork in the morning and I don't need to eat all that sugar.
